Casper 15 March 2025 News from Br. and JS. Josh Thompson AFAM Casper #15
Good morning Brethren-
I pen this report on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, fittingly as the ancients celebrated Ostara, Ēostre, to celebrate spring, dawn, new life, and renewal, just as Christians later came to celebrate Easter as annual remembrance of Christ's Holy Thursday (the last supper, prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane, and arrest), Good Friday (sentence to death, crucifixion, and death on the cross), Holy Saturday (buried in the tomb, descended into hell), and Holy Sunday (rising from the dead) to memorialize Christ's resurrection.
We're proud to report that we went from around $500-600 in bowling for Jason's friends in 2024 to raising $1,960 in 2025 for families and children in Wyoming with cancer. Jason's Friends helps any family in Wyoming without respect to income with cash donations to help them focus on spending time with family and not having to pay medical bills or worry about Christmas when going through such a horrific experience nobody would wish upon anyone. Special thanks to Br. Chris Neubauer for snapping some shots of our team!
What better way to do something good to build community and model community than for the fellows to raise money for a worthy cause and Casper lodges working together? We were proud to partner with Independence Rock #56 in supporting this worthy cause and making Masonry visible again so that people can see the good work brothers accomplish together.
Independence Rock #56 had one team who raised $400 (Weston Hubele, Vela Clark, Hanz Olson, Roger Tirpening, Bill Elmore). While I served as a booster and sort of booster captain to all three teams, I captained a team myself for Casper #15 and we raised $795 (Josh Thompson, Caleb Clark, Rod Kennedy, Chris Neubauer, Rob Winfrey). Nathaniel Kimball captained the second team from Casper #15 who raised $765 (Nathaniel Kimball, Matthew Frias, Dylan Thompson, Willie Moler, Shaedon Kennedy).
Happy Spring.
All the Best
