Since these calculators are products used as educational tools for long periods of time, materials that ensure robust key durability and prevent wear or fading of key markings are used to ensure product quality.

Notice

Among the fake products, there are models which cannot even produce a QR code or either produce a fake QR code that cannot be read.

If your device cannot scan or read the QR Code produced, that calculator may possibly be a counterfeit model.

Perform a wide variety of mathematical functions using the Casio FX300MS 10-digit calculator. This all-purpose scientific calculator is designed for both basic and advanced applications, including everything from addition to trigonometry and calculus. Perfect for schools and offices, this calculator uses a combination of solar and battery power, giving you the sustainability of solar energy with the fast start-up of a battery. It also features an auto power-off feature that helps save battery power when the calculator is left inactive, and a hard plastic slide-on case that keeps the unit protected.

Sleek new design and slide on hard case, natural textbook display, improved math functionality. This calculator is the perfect choice for students learning General Math, Trigonometry, Statistics, Algebra I and II, Pre-Algebra, Geometry, Physics.

The CASIO FX-97SG X is an advanced scientific calculator packed with features for math and science. According to the official CASIO website, this calculator model comes with 417 functions and has a 2-line display, ideal for showing intermediate calculation steps.

Overall, the FX-97SG X packs robust math and science functionality into a compact design perfect for students. Its intuitive interface and wide range of features make it a versatile calculator for the classroom and beyond.

Turning On/Off - To turn on the FX-97SG X, press the ON/OFF button. To turn off, press ON/OFF again and confirm by pressing EXE. The calculator will automatically turn off after about 6 minutes of inactivity.

The CASIO FX-97SG X calculator has several advanced functions that go beyond basic arithmetic and trigonometry. These include statistical, spreadsheet, QR code scanning, and equation solving capabilities.

The FX-97SG X can perform various statistical calculations for analyzing data sets. You can enter data points and have the calculator determine the mean, median, standard deviation, linear regression, and more. The statistics mode (STAT) lets you choose the type of graph to represent the data as well. This allows students to visualize statistical information (Casio FX-97SG X Manual).

The FX-97SG X also includes hypothesis testing functions for checking statistical significance. Common tests like z-tests, t-tests, F-tests, 2 tests and ANOVA are built in. Just input your data and variables to have the calculator run the test and output the results.

A unique capability of the FX-97SG X is the ability to scan QR codes using the built-in camera. You can scan QR codes that contain mathematical expressions to directly input them into the calculator. This allows for quick transfer of longer expressions without tediously typing them in. You can also generate QR codes for expressions to share with others.

The equation solving mode lets you input linear equations, quadratic equations, simultaneous equations, and more. It will then algebraically solve for the unknown variables. You simply type in the equations using standard math notation, press the solve button, and the calculator outputs the step-by-step working and solutions. This assists students in understanding how to manually solve equations.

The CASIO FX-97SG X has many useful features and functions that can be utilized more effectively with some handy tips and tricks. Here are some to help you get the most out of your scientific calculator:

Yes, the FX-97SG X is approved for exams like PSLE, O Levels, and A Levels in Singapore. Be sure to check your exam's specific calculator policies, as some exams prohibit certain features like the spreadsheet function. The FX-97SG X meets exam requirements due to its lack of graphic or communication capabilities. See the full list of approved calculators.

The FX-97SG X uses one LR44 button cell battery. The battery can last for up to 2 years with daily use. The actual battery life depends on how frequently you use the calculator. To conserve battery, use the auto power off function. Refer to the user manual for battery specifications.

What I wanted to do in this post is point out some of the differences to perhaps allows for a better decision. There are of course many online calculators as well, but obviously I am using hand-held models in this post for my comparisons. Mainly because not all students have consistent access to online tools (wifi) or phones (and phones are most often NOT allowed in class and definitely not on assessments), and the comparison between scientific vs. graphing is basically the same whether using an online version or a hand-held.

We are having a webinar tonight that explores the three models of scientific calculators that Casio offers, so if you are interested in finding out more about the capabilities, be sure to join us at 6:30 pm EDT (Register Here). We also did a previous webinar on the graphing calculator models, which I have included below. Hopefully now you can make some informed decisions. Check out all the calculators and pricing here:

The course describes some of the main features of a scientific calculator and encourages you to use your calculator, both for everyday arithmetic and for more complicated calculations that use the function keys as well. Key sequences, which describe which keys to press, are included in all the activities, so you can try out the ideas straightaway.

Due to the wide range of scientific calculators available, for the purposes of this course we will be concentrating on the Casio fx-83ES model. Other calculators may function differently to the methods described within this course.

This calculator is used on the Open University courses Starting with maths (Y182) and Discovering mathematics (MU123), but would also be useful for many other courses requiring the use of a scientific calculator.

The first 11 sections describe how to use the calculator and how to perform different types of calculations. Section 12 contains a calculator reference guide that you can refer to as needed for some of the main key sequences.

The lower half of the keypad contains the number keys, keys for the basic operations of addition, subtraction, division and multiplication, and the key, which is pressed when you want the calculator to display the result of the calculation you have entered. The keys used to insert brackets into a calculation are in the centre of the row above the number keys.

Some calculator operations are accessed through a system of menus that are displayed on the calculator screen, as shown in Figure 3. The required menu option is selected by pressing the number key associated with the option, as given on the calculator screen.

The figure shows the display on a calculator screen containing four lines of text. The top row of the screen contains a downward pointing arrowhead towards the right end. First line of text is 1 : M t h I O (written as one word) space 2 : Line I O (written as one word). Second line of text is 3 : Deg space 4 : Rad. Third line of text is 5 : Gra space 6 : Fix. Last line of text is 7 : Sci space 8 : Norm. ff782bc1db
