On Saturday, May 31st, the Canadian Association for the Study of Indigenous Education (CASIE), in partnership with CSSE, will host a pre-conference trip to the Chippewas of Rama/Mnjikaning First Nation for cultural land-based learning and community connection experiences.
This full-day excursion (leaving George Brown College at 8:30 am) will highlight Anishinaabe relational ways of being and include a visit to Mnjikaning Fish Weirs, an interpretive walk through the 60’s Scoop Commemorative Garden, and a hike along the Black River. Registering for the pre-conference will cost approximately $45 (to be confirmed) and include transportation, lunch, entry to the park, and gifts/honoraria for Knowledge Holders and community members.
There are 15 spots available and all CSSE members are welcome to register and attend!
