Used: look for used gear on Facebook Marketplace, Kid-to-Kid, etc. 

REI: Memorial Day and Labor Day sales. (there are often great deals on REI brand gear)

Costco: I've found good deals on fleece jackets, fingered/touch screen style gloves, balaclavas, polyester base layers, etc. For coats/snowpants just check for waterproofness rather than just water resistant.

Sierra Trading Post: Quality outdoor gear at discount prices (in-store or online).

Als Sporting Goods: Big savings during Black Friday and off-season sales (online or in-store).

Amazon: Look for out-of-season deals on Bogs boots, barefoot shoes, water sandals, and other gear.
