Finding unpaid media sources
Legitimacy from external news can help us go a long way. Choosing to pay for representation, introducing people who are willing to write articles about us, and willing to feature us in their podcast or sponsorship helps a ton.
Having our investors truly understand pain points
In this patriarchal society where business and investments are dominated by one gender– the reality is, oftentimes we are mainly speaking to men. It’s common for men to struggle to relate to the urgency and consistency with which these womanly issues occur. One way they can help is sharing our information with more women!
Getting the word out
As a small start-up business, we need to get our name out there to at least 50,000 people. The reality is, we’ve only been able to get in front of 2,000 people so far. Word of mouth is just as powerful as the speed of the internet. You can help us out by telling a friend to tell a friend!
Having the right tools
Unfortunately, we don’t have enough resources that would make our lives easier. Better technology, clothing for networking events, and finances, determines how we go about our business model. (This hasn’t stopped us, but think about how far we could go if we had something better!) You can help us out by visiting our gift registry!
Filling roles for our weaknesses
We don’t have the finances to hire a team at the moment, so we’ve been scrappy when it comes to logistics. Key necessities like leverage, growing our employees, having SYEP interns over the Summer, designers, and lawyers, are all difficult to maintain when there’s a lack of funding. One way you can help is by sharing our open roles once we’re hiring with people in your network who are mission-aligned, and also have expertise in such skills like finance, marketing, and sales!
Getting office space in NYC
The power of co-working and having collaborative spaces away from the home is important. We’ve loved it when our generous co-founder community extends invites to their co-working spaces! Places like The Wing and Neuehouse are great businesses that allow companies like Casa de la Luna to co-work in a private setting. You can help by giving us access, or letting us use your open office space if applicable.
Affording paid networking events
Getting back to live networking events has been exciting since the pandemic has slowed, but some of the best events can be costly and expensive. Regardless, Casa de la Luna wants to be in the room. If you have a connection that can get us a pass, or you plan to attend an event and can mention our names in the space, we’d be so grateful.
Getting realtors to respond to calls
What’s up New York?! So much empty retail space, so few ready to close a deal. Help us secure our ideal location.
Dealing with people who ask, “Why not E-Commerce?”
We’ve made our least favorite question the easiest one to answer. E-Commerce can only be part of the solution. (See our resources on this topic) Help us by explaining why a chatbot isn’t the easiest person to tell about your *insert vaginal care pain point here*
Maintaining Momentum
Any startup can feel like you’re pushing a boulder up the hill. Our boulder is really heavy. The higher our sights are set, the more people we need. Help us with your participation and encouragement. Your involvement matters!
