Effective date: October 24, 2026
This policy explains how CarTV ("the app") handles your information. In short: CarTV has no account, collects no personal data, and keeps everything you add on your iPhone.
We don't collect, store, sell or share any personal information. CarTV has no sign-up, no account and no advertising. It contains no analytics, tracking or advertising software.
The following stays on your iPhone and is never sent to us:
Playlists, channels, favorites and recently watched items
Where you stopped watching a video
Videos you import into the app
Your app settings
Sign-in details for media servers (Jellyfin, Emby, Plex) and Xtream Codes, which are kept in the iPhone's secure Keychain
CarTV connects only to the services you add yourself: playlist links, IPTV providers, and your own Jellyfin, Emby or Plex servers. It connects to load channel lists, artwork and video. Those services are run by third parties, and their own privacy policies apply to them. Signing in to Plex uses plex.tv.
Camera: used only to scan playlist QR codes. Images are processed on the device and never saved or sent anywhere.
Local network: used only to reach media servers on your home network.
Screen recording (Cast to Car): when you start mirroring, your iPhone screen is recorded only to show it on your car's display. The recording stays on your iPhone and is never saved or uploaded.
CarPlay: used to show CarTV and your videos on your car's display.
You can change these permissions at any time in the iPhone's Settings.
To remove a source, go to Settings › Manage Sources in the app. Deleting the app erases everything it stored on your iPhone.
CarTV is not directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone.
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
