List five to ten movies that fit your situation, audience, and mood. Then you should talk to the other people watching the movie with you. Inquire about their reactions to each film. After noting their responses, choose a movie you know everyone will enjoy.

All I remember is this... it was a kids cartoon movie from the 90s probably. It may have been adapted from a tv show. I feel like it was either adapted from TV or it was movie 2 of an original. The main character was a girl and something about a house being burned down. But I think the house was on the water. Like a dock. She had a mean character in her life (similar to evil stepmother etc.) And something about her or her stuff being sent off in a trunk to a faraway place like Timbuktu or some other place that was often used in kids movies to represent being very far away!!

With family-friendly animated holiday classics, like The Polar Express (2004), to adult cartoon comedies, like The Simpsons Meet the Bocellis in Feliz Navidad (2022), everyone will find something on Hulu and Disney+ to slow down and celebrate the season with.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate cartoon movie viewing as a practical and low-cost intervention to decrease burned children's pain behavior during dressing changes. Thirteen children, 4 to 12 years of age, with a mean TBSA burn of 7.9% were assessed using a reversal, single-subject experimental design. The experimental condition consisted of the presentation of a cartoon movie as a nonpharmacologic intervention in conjunction with a standardized analgesic medication. In the control condition children's pain was treated with the standardized analgesic medication only. Behavioral distress was measured during the first six dressing changes postburn with the Observational Scale of Behavioral Distress. No significant effect of cartoon movie distraction on observed behavioral distress in patients was found. Interrater reliability of the Observational Scale of Behavioral Distress was good (kappa =.87-.98). Wound debridement was found to be the most painful part of the dressing change. A simple, easily applicable, and low-cost distraction intervention such as presenting cartoon movies does not seem to be sufficiently powerful to measurably reduce burned children's distress during dressing changes. Findings are based on purely observational data. Inclusion of self-report measures in future studies might reveal intervention effects on anxiety and subjective pain perception.

Incredibles 2 director Brad Bird argues that animated movies are actually not kids movies. The filmmaker made a name for himself by directing some of the most beloved animated films in modern cinema history: The Iron Giant, The Incredibles, and Ratatouille. And after taking some time to helm a few live-action properties, he's back in force with a sequel to his 2004 classic.

Just like his past animated movies, Incredibles 2 also released with a PG (Parental Guidance) from the MPAA for its action sequences and "brief mild language." While the former reason is something all audiences would've expected going into the theater, it's the latter reason that is actually causing quite a stir. Many people feel that the movie shouldn't include an allusion to vulgar language, despite not going as far as to say those words. Why? Because it's animated movie, which, to general audiences, means it's a kids movie. But the director doesn't feel the same way.

This seems to indicate that the idea of that animation is for children is not very widespread, which makes sense considering that many of those who expressed interest in the film were those who saw the original as children. What's interesting is that several other Pixar movies include adult jokes and themes as well. Up dealt with incredibly mature themes including that suicide and infertility, and Inside Out even played around with the idea of depression.

If more people were willing to accept the idea that animation can be intended for any age group, then the variety of cartoons would sky-rocket. Shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender, Steven Universe, and Teen Titans have already proven that there is an audience for cartoons, especially those that are beautifully animated and deal with mature themes. Of course, an animated movie or TV show being made for all ages doesn't mean they aren't also suitable for children, but what Bird seems to be getting at is that an animated, PG-rated movie shouldn't also be assumed to be only for children.

Researchers have shown that children are faster learners than adults. They absorb everything around them rapidly and easily, especially language. This is why making kids watch English movies helps them to naturally learn the language, firstly to listen and speak like a native.

Disney's most notorious villains take over the House of Mouse and plan to release evil mayhem on Halloween night. Luckily, the heroes have a plan to win their house back from the villains occupying it. Young kids will love this cartoon, action-thriller filled with familiar characters.

This dark fantasy film tells the story of Alex, a young boy with a passion for making up scary stories. But when he tries to give up the habit to fit in with his peers, an evil witch kidnaps him and insists that he tell a new scary story every night if he wants to stay alive. Nightbooks has quite a few scary sights, so it may be best suited for older tweens who enjoy horror movies.
