OUR STORY
May 26, 2025
Six years ago, we bought a tiny tabletop oven that could only fit three 6-inch pans. I never imagined it would spark a journey that would change our lives.
I used to work 45 hours a week in a job I loved for almost 8 years. Leaving it was terrifying—I was walking away from something that had shaped a third of my life and a team I truly cared about. But my priorities shifted. My daughter, Carryn, needed me. And deep in my heart, I knew it was time.
I never liked baking at first—it felt too structured. But when I gave it a chance, I found creativity in it. More than that, I found joy in making food that lit up my family’s faces. I practiced, took classes, and when Cebu went on lockdown, I bartered my baked goods for essentials. People loved them. That gave me the courage to keep going.
I named the business Carryn’s Cakes, because she’s been the heart of this story from the start.
I didn’t bake continuously. For two years, I worked as a VA, earning well but losing sleep. When the contract ended, I used the parting bonus to invest in equipment—and I started again. Now, we have our own baking studio, a small team, and a growing business that gives me both purpose and presence.
Through it all, God was behind every step—shifting my heart, sending the right people, and opening doors I never expected.
To all the moms dreaming of more time for family and meaningful work—this is proof that with faith, love, and a little courage, something beautiful can rise.
Warmly,
Mom. Baker. Dreamer.
