When a group of women are working together, they raise each other up to meet the challenges.

Women lift each other in spirit

They support each other in work

They fortify each other’s souls to create a place for justice.

They carry each other to the next stage of the cycle, making room for those that are without the capacity to understand the importance of the fight.

The women in the play must:

Carry the work with you and pass on for generations to come

Carry the torch of light to show the way to those lost

Bring those in the dark to those in the light and share in the wealth of knowing that the future holds bright things for activists

The women in the play must:

Carry thoughts and actions from era to era, from the past to the present to the future

A prophecy can be carried by the Forten Sisters. They know how to engage the present for the future by holding firm to their own beliefs.
