Last Updated: August 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the developer of Car,Play Widget Speedometer (“Developer,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the mobile application Car,Play Widget Speedometer (the “App”), including related Premium subscription features.
By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. WHO WE ARE
The App is operated by the Developer identified on the App’s Apple App Store product page. For privacy questions, contact us through the support contact details published on that product page, or through any in-app support channel we make available.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect only what is needed to operate the App’s features.
2.1 Information you provide
• Vehicle and garage details you enter (for example brand, model, year, nickname, or similar profile data).
• VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) if you choose to look up vehicle information.
• Photos or images you choose to attach for AI Repair diagnoses.
• Feedback or support messages you send us.
2.2 Information collected automatically or with device permission
Depending on the permissions you grant and the features you use, the App may access or process:
• Location (When In Use): used for live speed display, trip metrics, navigation-related features, and local weather while you drive. We do not request continuous background location solely for advertising.
• Contacts: used only to show contacts on the driving dashboard so you can place calls from the App’s phone interface. We do not upload your full address book for marketing.
• Camera: used only when you take a photo for AI Repair.
• Photo Library: used only when you select an existing photo for AI Repair.
• Device and usage diagnostics: crash logs, performance data, and analytics events (for example screen views and feature usage) through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics when those services are configured in the App build you install.
• Purchase and subscription status: managed through Apple’s StoreKit / App Store billing so we can unlock Premium features.
2.3 Information from third-party services you enable through the App
• Weather data may be requested from weather data providers using approximate location.
• VIN decode requests may be sent to publicly available vehicle information services (such as NHTSA VPIC or equivalent) when you submit a VIN.
• Internet radio station metadata and streams may be fetched from radio directory / streaming sources when you use Radio.
• Map and routing features may use Apple MapKit or related system frameworks on your device.
3. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use information to:
• Provide core App functions (driving dashboard, GPS speedometer, trip stats, maps, music/radio controls, phone shortcuts, garage, themes, AI Repair, and Premium unlocks).
• Improve reliability, fix bugs, and understand feature usage.
• Personalize in-app experience (selected theme, units, saved vehicles).
• Process and restore subscriptions.
• Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use and EULA.
• Respond to support requests.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. LEGAL BASES (WHERE APPLICABLE)
Where required by law (including the GDPR), we process personal data on one or more of these bases: performance of a contract with you; your consent (for optional permissions such as camera, photos, contacts, or location); our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the App in ways that do not override your rights; and compliance with legal obligations.
5. SHARING OF INFORMATION
We may share information only as follows:
• Service providers that help us operate the App (for example Apple for App Store distribution and payments; Google Firebase for analytics and crash reporting when enabled; CDN or hosting providers for vehicle imagery or legal pages; weather, VIN, or radio data providers as needed to fulfill a request you initiate).
• Legal and safety: when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity.
• Business transfers: if we undergo a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or asset transfer, information may be transferred as part of that transaction under continued confidentiality and privacy obligations.
We do not share your contacts, photos, or precise location with advertisers for cross-app tracking.
6. DATA STORAGE AND RETENTION
• Much of your garage, theme, and preference data is stored on your device.
• Analytics and crash data may be processed on servers operated by our service providers.
• We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer period is required by law. You may clear certain local data from Settings (for example AI Repair history) where that control is provided.
7. SECURITY
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your device and Apple ID secure.
8. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
9. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including where Apple, Google Firebase, or other providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards permitted by applicable law.
10. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also:
• Change or revoke device permissions in iOS Settings.
• Limit analytics where Apple or the App provide such controls.
• Manage, cancel, or request refunds for subscriptions through your Apple ID / App Store subscription settings.
• Contact us using the App Store support contact to exercise privacy rights.
California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” as those terms are defined by California law. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly defined.
EEA/UK users may lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority.
11. DRIVING SAFETY AND LOCATION
Location and driving features are provided for convenience. Obey traffic laws. Do not interact with the App in a way that distracts you from driving. Location data used for speed and navigation is based on device GPS and may be inaccurate.
12. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES
The App may open websites (including this Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, and EULA) or connect to third-party streams and APIs. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
13. APPLE AND CARPLAY
Apple Inc. is not a party to this Privacy Policy. The App is an independent product and is not manufactured, endorsed, or sponsored by Apple. References to CarPlay compatibility, where made, are solely to describe interoperability with Apple’s platform under Apple’s applicable guidelines.
14. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy, except where applicable law requires additional notice or consent.
15. CONTACT
For privacy requests, use the developer support contact on the App’s Apple App Store listing, and include “Privacy Request – Car,Play Widget Speedometer” in your message.
