Artist ~ Naturalist ~ Teacher

As a science teacher, I employ creativity as a vehicle for students to communicate their scientific knowledge, to ignite curiosity, and to embrace their artistic abilities. The power to successfully problem-solve is a hallmark of both scientists and artists alike.

I have always been drawn to the beauties of the natural world and my artwork reflects that life-long relationship. I consider myself a multifaceted artist because I continually revolve through the different types of media in order to advance my creative perspective. As a life-long learner, I passionately experiment with new techniques in hopes that I can utilize them in the classroom. However, some mediums, such as watercolor or pen and ink, take a lifetime to master and are my constant companions, whether I am in the field or studio.
