Now Enrolling for the Fall!
Now Enrolling for the Fall!
We are so excited about Group Piano and Guitar Lessons in our studio!! Group Lessons are peer-based, multi-level (Beginner through Intermediate), multi-faceted, synergetic 60-minute experiences meeting weekly. Students learn to play individually and also play in ensemble with each other. These Group Lessons allow each student to progress at their own desired pace, and are offered mornings, afternoons and evenings. Our piano curriculum is Piano Pyramid®, by Dorla Aparicio, and we dive into all the elements of musicianship: note reading, theory, technique, various genres, performance, and of course ensmble playing! Our guitar curriculum is centered on Alex Stroud's Level Up Guitar Program. Because we believe that these curricula bring our students the absolute best in musical training, Group Lesson students recieve priority in lesson scheduling at the beginning of the year, along with special pricing.
I offer weekly lessons for Piano, Guitar, and Voice in 30 and 45 minute sessions, tailored to your goals and best learning style!
Our studio aims to develop the whole musician, teaching and growing in the following skills: music by ear and rote, memory, sight-reading and sight-learnng,music theory, expression and technique, improvisation, writing music, playing with others, and performance.
Students are required to practice daily for optimal growth. I recommmend a regular time in the day, such as "immediately after afternoon snack," or "just after dinner," which allows practice to become a life-long habit (and also takes the pressure off of the parent to remember to remind the child!)
Included in the price of tuition are two yearly Recitals and occasional "Music Shares," symbiotic groups for just the students where they play favorite pieces for each other, colaborate, share musical games, and eat!
Students are invited to participate in the local Greater Jacksonville Piano Competition and the Florida Federation of Music Clubs (FFMC), where they share and learn from the broader local musical community, and find themselves further challenged and motivated. Membership in the FFMC is prestigeous, and provides a cutting edge for students as they seek college scholarships as well.
I welcome calls and texts so that you can see if I can help you meet your goals! Please feel free to contact me at (904) 891-0229. If I am not immediately available, I will contact you at the earliest possibility.
I am a direct provider with Step Up for Students scholarship program.
Regular enrollment, regardless of Plan, includes invitations to participate in yearly recitals and symbiotic events.

"Almost one year ago, our nine year old son started taking lessons with Carol Wallis and the experience has surpassed all our expectations. It is a true joy witnessing our son’s love and knowledge of music grow in such a warm, positive and caring environment. It is also incredible to watch his steady progression and his increase in confidence which is directly due to Carol’s talent, patience, passion and expertise with teaching music. We are very thankful to have her as our son’s piano teacher and would highly recommend Carol!" - A. Cummings
“Carol is a joy for a parent to work with and her tuition is revealing depths to our son’s musical aptitude that we suspected were there but had never seen. Could not be happier and neither could our boy” - S. Keymer
“I highly recommend Carol for music lessons and academic tutoring. We have used her for both and have seen amazing progress. Our children love going to see her. She is always positive and encouraging. What a great resource to have right here in the neighborhood.”
- K. Alberts
“Carol is so patient with my 5 year old and as a result, she is off to a great start with her musical adventure. I highly recommend Carol. She is easy to work with, great communicator, can’t say enough good things!” - E. Dean
“Carol Wallis!! She is amazing!” (In response to request for a piano teacher) - A. Flynn
“I found Miss Carol via [Nextdoor] and she turned out to be the best decision we have ever made. We decided on math tutoring and piano lessons for my 10 year old. He was having trouble with common core and was starting to hate math. So initially that is what we were searching for. Then she informed me she also taught music and that was perfection! She’s so joyous and welcoming, patient and kind. She’s delightful to be around and consistent with her teachings. My son went from a C to an A all year and even into this year and loved math again. And he loves playing the piano now. Her prices are accurate and she is well worth it. If you need a tutor or music teacher, she will not disappoint!” - C. Jackson
"Mrs. Wallis is an encouraging and loving instructor! She is supportive of her students, and we are so pleased with our daughter's progress and growth under Mrs. Wallis' guidance. My daughter was a much older student when she first began taking lessons, and she immediately fell in love with playing piano and adores Mrs. Wallis. She made her feel comfortable and confident after their first meeting, and she looks forward to her lesson all week. We also really appreciate Mrs. Wallis' flexibility when accommodating busy families with evolving schedules. We are so grateful for Mrs. Wallis, and her students are so lucky to have her! " - C. Bryan
"Whether teaching math or music, Carol consistently exudes enthusiasm. As an adult piano student, I appreciated Carol’s knack for providing enjoyable lessons that were tailored to my ability and that included incisive, tactful feedback. Her commitment to teaching and supporting her students is exceptional." - M. Lott
