Her classes are filled with positive energy, joy, and inspiration. Students often leave class feeling more confident, grounded, and connected to themselves through movement.
Carolina’s teaching is deeply rooted in a powerful artistic lineage. She follows the path of her mother, Vanessa Angulo, widely regarded as one of the most influential pioneers of Belly Dance in the Dominican Republic. Vanessa Angulo played a key role in popularizing Oriental Dance nationwide through decades of performances, media appearances, and the founding of one of the country’s most respected belly dance schools.
From Vanessa Angulo’s school emerged numerous professional dancers who have gone on to win national and international competitions, open their own schools, lead dance companies, and teach across countries such as the United States, Germany, France, Italy, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Curacao, Venezuela, Peru, El Salvador, and other parts of Europe.
Carolina received her foundational training from a very young age within this environment of discipline, cultural respect, and artistic excellence. Growing up immersed in professional productions, workshops, and choreography processes, she developed a deep understanding of belly dance that continues to shape her teaching today.
This legacy brings a strong emphasis on proper technique, musical interpretation, cultural authenticity, and professional standards, passed down through generations of dedicated instruction.
Through her mother’s leadership, Carolina was exposed early on to high-level international training. Vanessa Angulo worked extensively with renowned Egyptian and international masters, including Ahmed Hussein, Yousry Shariff, Mahmoud Reda, Sahar Sami, Ibrahim Farrah, Aida Nour, Tito, and others.
As part of this tradition, international instructors from Egypt and abroad were regularly invited to teach workshops, ensuring constant growth and exposure to authentic styles, folkloric forms, and advanced choreography. This deep cultural foundation is reflected in Carolina’s approach to teaching and performance.
What truly makes Carolina’s classes unique is that they are intentionally designed to be fun, relaxed, and low-stress. This approach allows students to learn more effectively, absorb information naturally, and enjoy the journey without pressure.
Classes are structured to:
Reduce stress and intimidation
Encourage joyful movement
Improve learning retention
Build confidence at a comfortable pace
Create a positive emotional connection to dance
This philosophy helps students not only improve technically, but also feel motivated, empowered, and excited to continue learning.
Carolina’s role goes beyond teaching steps. She acts as a mentor and guide, helping students connect deeply with themselves through dance. Many students have experienced personal growth through her classes, using movement as a tool for expression, confidence, and well-being.
Her dedication to teaching has earned her multiple recognitions, including awards for Best Teacher and Best Choreographer, reflecting her long-standing commitment to excellence in dance education.
