Stories about Music with follow up activities - for ALL grade levels

Watch the video story about The Drum and then have students draw a picture of their own special drum. What would it look like? Would it have special colours? What would it sound like?

Learn all about the musical style "Be Bop" and how much fun it is! Watch this cool story song about Charlie Parker.

Watch the video about The First Music. Have a class discussion about other animals they know and the sounds they make. Have the students draw a picture of some animals and illustrate the sounds the animals are making.

Here's a story about the musical style called "Scat"....watch and learn about it, and how difficult it is to sit still while listening! Kids can shout out "SCAT CAT" when they see the speech bubble! After watching the video, students can draw and colour a picture that illustrates the story.

This is a story about a giraffe and how he finds that music helps him move and dance! "Giraffes Can't Dance" is a great storybook! Now draw some pictures of other animals dancing!

Wow! Who likes roller coasters? Take a wild ride on this animated roller coaster, set to run with the song Tchaikovsky's  !8th Century Overture. Buckle up!! Then let students draw their own roller coasters, imagining their own music!

The Muppets are always fun to watch. Here they are taking on one of Queen's greatest hits! Ask the students to keep track of which characters they see, (older students can make a list). After watching let the kids draw their favourite muppet OR invent their own character!

Click the link below to visit my page of Disney Singalong Songs. Students can watch, and hum along if they wish!
