About Me
CARMEN MARTINEZ :D
My name is Carmen Martinez, I am a current student at Smithfield-Selma High School in the graduating class of 2024. I have been in AVID since the 8th grade and joined the IB Careers Program around my sophomore year. I am the Senior Secretary & Projects Director for student government, I am part of the National Honors Society and I am a member of various other clubs. In my free time, I enjoy staying at home watching tv or dancing. I like to bake for my friends/family, clean (sometimes), paint, and listen to music.
LONG & SHORT TERM GOALS
Short Goal: To receive my CNA certification before I finish high school
Long Term Goal: Use the knowledge and skills I learned in my High School journey for later in life for my career.
MY IB CAREER PATH
I Joined the IBCP program my sophomore year but officially began my junior year. I chose the health track because it is something I was interested in pursuing in the near future. I want to be a pediatrician or something in health care that involves children. I love helping others and I want to be someone that a person can rely on.
REFLECTION ON DEVELOPMENT
My journey through IBCP so far has been a roller coaster ride. I am thankful that I had the opportunity to be able join this program. Being in this program has brought me a lot of opportunities that I don't think I would be able to get, like getting to do a Summer Internship.
Being in this program has taught me skills that have become very useful for my other classes and outside of school!
