General Tryout Information
FINAL DETAILS FOR 2025-26 TRYOUTS BELOW!
Tryouts will begin each year in mid-September. There are three rounds of tryouts for each grade. It is expected that all players will attend all three rounds of tryouts for their grade. The strongest players in each round will be invited back to the next round. There will be cuts made in each round to get down to final team selections at the conclusion of the third and final round of tryouts.
The Pups Basketball Tryouts are run by the Carmel High School basketball coaching staff. Any questions regarding the tryout process should be directed to carmelpupsbasketball@gmail.com
All players planning to tryout must register for Travel Basketball with Carmel Dad's Club. Tryout Registration opens on September 1st on the CDC website.
Season Tryout Schedule
First Round - Sunday, September 14th (CHS Fieldhouse, via Door 17 or 21) - PARENTS - plan to attend a brief parent meeting at the start of each grade level evaluation (i.e. 2nd Grade Parent Meeting from 10:30-10:45 and so on)
2nd Grade: 10:30 - 11:45 AM
3rd Grade: 12:15 - 1:30 PM
4th Grade: 2:00 - 3:30 PM
5th Grade: 4:00 - 5:30 PM
6th Grade: 6:00 - 7:30 PM
Second Round Call Backs (CHS Fieldhouse, via Door 17)
4th Grade: Monday, September 15th, 7:00 - 8:30 PM
5th Grade: Tuesday, September 16th, 7:00 - 8:30 PM
2nd & 3rd Grade: Wednesday, September 17th, 7:00 - 8:15 PM

IMPORTANT TRYOUT REMINDERS!!!
Players should arrive no earlier than 20 minutes prior to their designated tryout time. All players must check-in with our Pups staff each day and receive their numbered tryout jersey.
All players should enter through CHS Door 17.
Players should bring a water bottle. Do not bring a basketball - those will be provided by the CHS Staff
Players invited back for Round 2 and Round 3 will be posted on this website each day no later than 10:00 PM. Final Rosters will be posted by 5:00 PM on Monday, September 22nd.
All players offered a roster spot are expected to accept no later than 5:00 PM on Tuesday, September 23rd. Additional registration/program fees and email confirmation are required, or roster spots may be forfeited. Refer to our Season Info section for more info on program fees, program schedule, and player commitment and expectations.
All 2025-26 Pups players are required to stop by Aletto for uniform fitting - September 24th or 25th (Times TBD) and confirm uniform info via our Google Form before September 26th.
All 2025-26 Pups players & at least 1 parent are required to attend a brief Pups Player/Parent meeting on Sunday, September 28th.
