TRYOUTS
General Tryout Information
Tryouts will begin each year in mid-September. There are three rounds of tryouts for each grade. It is expected that all players will attend all three rounds of tryouts for their grade. The strongest players in each round will be invited back to the next round. There will be cuts made in each round to get down to final team selections at the conclusion of the third and final round of tryouts.
The Pups Basketball Tryouts are run by the Carmel High School basketball coaching staff. Any questions regarding the tryout process should be directed to carmelpupsbasketball@gmail.com
All players planning to tryout must register for Travel Basketball with Carmel Dad's Club.

First Round - Sunday, September 15th (CHS Fieldhouse, via Door 17)
2nd & 3rd Grade: 12:00 - 1:30 PM
4th Grade: 2:00 - 3:30 PM
5th Grade: 4:00 - 5:30 PM
6th Grade: 6:00 - 7:30 PM
Second Round Call Backs (CHS Fieldhouse, via Door 17)
4th Grade: Monday, September 16th, 7:00 - 8:30 PM
6th Grade: Tuesday, September 17th, 7:00 - 8:30 PM
5th Grade: Wednesday, September 18th, 7:00 - 8:30 PM
2nd & 3rd Grade: Thursday, September 19th, 7:00 - 8:30 PM
Final Round Call Backs - Sunday, September 22nd (CHS Fieldhouse, via Door 17)
2nd Grade: 10:30 - 11:45 AM

IMPORTANT TRYOUT REMINDERS!!!
Players should arrive no earlier than 20 minutes prior to their designated tryout time. All players must check-in with our Pups staff each day and receive their numbered tryout jersey.
All players should enter through CHS Door 17. If the Door 17 area is congested, park near Door 13 (Freshman Center) and walk to Door 17 for entry.
Players should bring a water bottle. Do not bring a basketball - those will be provided by the CHS Staff
Players invited back for Round 2 and Round 3 will be posted on this website each day no later than 9:30 PM. Final Rosters will be posted by 5:00 PM on Monday, September 23rd.
All players offered a roster spot are expected to accept no later than 5:00 PM on Tuesday, September 24th. Additional registration/program fees and email confirmation are required, or roster spots may be forfeited. Refer to our Season Info section for more info on program fees, program schedule, and player commitment and expectations.
All 2024-25 Pups players are required to stop by Aletto for uniform fitting - September 25th or 26th (between 5:30-7:30 PM) and confirm uniform info via our Google Form before September 27th.
All 2024-25 Pups players & at least 1 parent are required to attend a Pups Player/Parent meeting on Sunday, September 29th.
