 Practice Information

All Pups Basketball teams (2nd thru 6th Grade) will practice two times per week.  The majority of practices are held at the Carmel Dad's Club indoor facility (Aletto Family Sports Complex) adjacent to the Carmel Dad's Club Badger Fields and Offices. 

Practices will begin after Fall Break and continue through mid December and the conclusion of Fall league play.  Practices will resume in early January through the end of the season (early March)

Practices times will vary by grade, but each team will practice ~75 minutes per session between 5:15 and 9:00 PM.  

 Program Cost

All prospective Pups players must register for tryouts through Carmel Dad's Club (www.carmeldadsclub.org).  Registration opens September 1st.  Registration fees are $105*.

Players who receive a team offer will need to complete an additional registration to accept their roster spot.  The additional registration fee is $575.

The overall program cost of $680/player covers all practices (2x per week, excluding holiday/school breaks), games (~35-50 including leagues and tournaments, depending on team), and uniform (reversible game jersey/shorts, shooter shirt, reversible practice jersey/shorts).

*Registrations for players who do not make a Pups team are rolled into the CDC Rec League, or the fee can be refunded through the Carmel Dad's Club.

 Saturday and Sunday League Info

Saturday League

Our Pups Basketball teams (2nd through 6th grade) participate in the Indiana Youth Basketball League (IYBL), Central Indiana's premier "Saturday" league with a combination of school and non-school based teams for a great mix of competition for all of our Pups teams.  

The league is divided into two sessions, Fall (Oct-Dec) and Winter (Jan-Mar), with games scheduled at the Pacers Athletic Center (PAC), Mojo Up Sports Complex or Best Choice Fieldhouse.  Each session concludes with a tournament.  

The majority of games are scheduled on Saturdays.  In some cases, especially during tournaments, games may be scheduled during the week.

Sunday League

Starting with the 2023-24 season, Pups Basketball teams (2nd through 6th grade) will be participating in the Indiana Ball Sunday League.  This is a school-based league, including the majority of Central Indiana's 4A school-based travel youth teams.  

The league will begin in November and run through February, concluding with a multi-week single elimination tournament for all teams.  

Games are held on Sundays and scheduled across participating school facilities across Central Indiana - including Carmel.

League schedules are accessible via the Indiana Ball mobile app or via their website.

 Tournaments

Each team will have the opportunity to participate in 1-3 tournaments throughout the season, in addition to the tournaments associated with the Saturday and Sunday leagues.  Tournament participation will be at the discretion of the Team Head Coach and the Pups General Manager.  For some teams, tournament play may involve travel and lodging based on location.

 6th Grade Middle School Games

Our 6th Grade Pups teams will have an additional 1-3 games against local Middle School teams during the season.  These games are scheduled during the school week and played at local Middle School gyms or Aletto.
