Carlos Toro

Welcome to my website.

I am a researcher who develops intelligent sensing systems (Hw+Sw) to acquire signals and images from the world (physical, chemical, biological ) and the models + algorithms to understand it. Nowadays I'm into developing and applying data driven methods such as machine/deep learning. 

I completed my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Concepción, Chile in 2014. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering (2009) and conducted a Postdoctoral research project at the same university (2017-2020) . I am interested in the fields of applied artificial intelligence in a broad sense and new multimodal generative models. 

I have experience with spectroscopy and hyperspectral sensing methods, and optoelectronic systems in general.
