Theses Supervision & Advising
Over the course of my academic career, I have had the opportunity and privilege to supervise a wide range of theses across diverse fields, including Economics, Finance, International Management, Marketing, Statistics, Data Analysis, Communication, Digital Humanities, Art and Cultural Management, Business Administration, Behavioral Finance, Technology and Innovation Studies, Citizen Science and Social Impact Research.
For me, supervising a thesis goes far beyond reviewing drafts or offering feedback to students. I see it as an in-depth learning journey that involves guiding students through the entire research process: from identifying a compelling research problem and framing it within a clear epistemological, ontological, and axiological perspective, to designing a robust data strategy, selecting or collecting relevant data, assessing data quality, and applying appropriate methodologies to answer research questions or test hypotheses.
A key part of my supervision approach is to involve students in hands-on experimentation with new methodologies and the code that I have developed. I believe this allows them to engage with the cutting edge of research and fosters a deeper exchange on the tools they are working with.
In my approach to supervision, I always strive to take into account each student’s vision for their future professional path. This allows me to support not just the academic quality of the thesis, but also its relevance to the student’s career goals and aspirations. Helping talented young people complete their academic journey and take their first steps into the professional world is, for me, an immense source of satisfaction, both personally and professionally.
