Role of the Professional School Counselor
The role of the School Counselor is to support all students in their academic, social, and emotional growth through a comprehensive guidance program that includes guidance lessons, small groups, and individual counseling. Our School Counselor collaborates to provide support for all stakeholders while building strong and positive relationships for all.
Leadership and Advocacy
In order to ensure the success of all learners and foster a positive learning environment, the School Counselor advocates for all students, families, and staff. Working alongside administration and community, the School Counselor works with every class once a month for guidance lessons, creates daily morning meetings to build class community, conducts small groups and lunch bunches as well as individual sessions for students when needed. The School Counselor organizes events throughout the school including: Coffee with the Counselor, Start with Hello Week, Red Ribbon Week, World Kindness Day, Family Night, College and Career Week, and Character Awards.
