Marketing Communications and Sales consisted of two main assignments this year. This is a ten credit module. The first assignment was to write an essay or create a podcast. There was a list of broad titles you could choose from and work around. I enjoyed the freedom of this assignment. I choose to manipulate one of the titles to fit the essay idea I had.
For this essay I chose the topic 'Creativity in the Sales Process' . My essay title was "How Coca Cola have used creative marketing and sales methods to overcome the Sugar Tax implemented in Ireland." I explored the governments implementation of the sugar tax in Ireland and how one of the biggest brands in the world took this on. Coca Cola is a global giant who are know for their classic cola drink and opted not to reinvent their product to a sugar free alternative.
Although Coca Cola stood their ground with their sugary drink they did in fact use clever marketing tools and methods to help overcome this change. I have explored and analysed the marketing methods used by Coca Cola in this essay.
