As part of second year we study finance as a ten credit module throughout the year. We learn how to do financial statements such as a statement of financial position and xxx.

As part of this module we used an online accounting software known as bullet. This is account software for small to medium business which helps create income and balance statements. I found this useful to use real life software. Below I have inserted a screen-grab of the bullet website.

Bullet

During Enterprise week in my college the man who created bullet came in to give a talk. I attended this talk and found it very informative. He talked about how he along with one other person developed the bullet software, since he has both the other founder out. He spoke to us about running bullet and how he out sources all of the work involved to different people around the world. He discussed how this has saved him money by outsourcing the work opposed to have a team on the ground in Ireland. He also talked about other small business' he has acquired and how he balances running various business'.
