Jerry Macdonald has dedicated his career to championing social justice through his extensive work and volunteer efforts in both large and small nonprofit organizations. His commitment to fostering change and developing essential resources has made a significant impact across numerous causes, including mental health, substance abuse treatment, LGBT rights, HIV/AIDS, education, public health, housing, arts and culture, and children and youth services.
For over 20 years, Jerry has been an integral part of Caring People Alliance, serving in multiple capacities before being named President and CEO in 2016. His visionary leadership aims to transform Caring People Alliance into a dynamic engine for social justice, addressing the root causes of poverty in Philadelphia.
Jerry lives in South Philadelphia with his husband, David Acosta. Together, they enjoy art, travel, food, and animals.
Adrianne Dumpson-Diggs has been a cornerstone of Caring People Alliance for over 20 years, bringing a wealth of experience and unwavering dedication to her roles. She began her journey with the organization in the Teen Parent Education and Employment Program (TPEEP), demonstrating her commitment to supporting young parents. Her passion for helping others led her to work with the Early Learning Resource Center Region 18 (ELRC-18) as Assistant Director of Eligibility, before advancing to her current role.
Adrianne's dedication to helping those in need was inspired by her mother, who organized soup kitchens, food, and clothing drives. In the 1990s, Adrianne founded the Parent Support Center in the basement of her church in South Philadelphia, showcasing her proactive approach to community service. Outside of her professional commitments, Adrianne values spending quality time with her husband and three sons.
Branon Gilmore has a rich history with the Boys & Girls Club movement, beginning his journey as a Club Kid in Reading, PA. With a Bachelor of Science degree from Temple University, Branon joined Caring People Alliance in 2005, initially working with Philadelphians in need through a Welfare to Work Program. Over his nearly 20 years with the organization, Branon has taken on various roles, including directing Clubs, leading outreach efforts, managing compliance, fundraising, and advocating for the programs at Caring People Alliance.
As a dedicated member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Branon has been instrumental in advancing partnerships and representing Caring People Alliance within this national movement. His efforts have significantly contributed to expanding our Clubs' services and programming, securing additional funding, and enhancing partnerships that support our mission. Recognizing Branon's invaluable contributions and his pivotal role in our Boys & Girls Clubs, he was appointed Vice President of Boys & Girls Club Movement in 2024. Branon enjoys adventures with his wife, Kim, and his three boys that always keep him on his toes.
Dmytro Gorbachov has been a vital part of Caring People Alliance since 2021, bringing with him over two decades of senior financial and organizational management experience. His extensive background includes pivotal roles in mid-market companies and major multinational conglomerates, including Big-4 accounting firms, where he has excelled in developing strategies and executing tactical plans for revenue growth, cost reduction, and operational improvements.
Dmytro holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Grenoble École de Management in France and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame in the USA. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), underscoring his deep expertise in financial management. At Caring People Alliance, Dmytro is committed to leveraging his financial acumen to support the organization's mission of social justice and community empowerment. His strategic approach ensures that the organization remains financially robust while maximizing its impact on the community.
John Haltiwanger has been a dedicated member of Caring People Alliance since 2013, starting as the IT Manager and advancing to his current role as a Vice President. With over 25 years of experience in various IT disciplines.
John holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Howard University, a Master's degree in Computer Systems Engineering from Colorado Technical University, and has completed Doctorate work at the same institution. His extensive educational background complements his practical experience, making him an invaluable asset to our team.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, John enjoys spending his free time fishing, training his son in sports, and supporting his daughter in her pursuit of a dual B.S. degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering. John's dedication to both his family and his profession exemplifies the spirit of Caring People Alliance. His expertise and leadership in IT ensure that our organization remains at the forefront of technology, allowing us to better serve our community.
Luke McKetta's commitment to serving communities began in Philadelphia, where he managed homeless shelters and transitional housing, directed youth programming, and led a violence prevention project. In 2016, Luke brought his passion and expertise to Caring People Alliance, initially overseeing the South Philadelphia Boys & Girls Club. His dedication and leadership quickly earned him promotions to Safety and Compliance Director and then Senior Director of Programs and Service Delivery for all Clubs.
Luke's dedication to professional growth led him to earn a Master's degree in Nonprofit Management in 2021. Shortly after, he secured an executive leadership role at Make-A-Wish Foundation. There, he oversaw operations, intake and eligibility, community outreach, volunteer operations, compliance, and granting 300 wishes annually across Philadelphia, Delaware, and the Susquehanna Valley. Although leaving Caring People Alliance was a challenging decision for Luke, his experience at Make-A-Wish Foundation enriched his skills and deepened his commitment to nonprofit service. His desire to return to operations and direct service brought him back to Caring People Alliance in 2024, where he continues to make a profound impact.
Keith Smith is the Vice President of Administration at Caring People Alliance; he has dedicated eighteen-plus years to the organization. He served as the Senior Accountant, Assistance Controller, and, Senior Controller in the finance department. Keith also worked in the subsidized childcare program as the Administration Manager, Finance Manager, and the Assistance Director of Operations for ELRC 18 of Philadelphia County. Previous occupations included Budget Manager for WES Health System and Controller for Supportive Adult Network Inc.
Keith attended Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland, where he graduated with a BS in Accounting. As a consultant, Keith has worked with numerous community and grass-root organizations throughout Greater Philadelphia and South Jersey.
Keith is a proud grandfather and father and currently lives in Wilmington, DE, with his wife. He is a Philadelphia sports fan who enjoys the Eagles, Phillies, and Sixers!
