Bike

Biking is an easy and affordable way to get around UofL and beyond. With dedicated bike lanes throughout campus, biking offers a great way to get to your classes, grab something to eat, or go to your favorite study spot. Bikes can also be used to get to grocery stores, restaurants, and parks off-campus using the many bike lanes around Louisville. Biking also has environmental benefits, as you will reduce your carbon footprint!

Safety

Since 2013, the League of American Bicyclists has certified that UofL is a Bicycle Friendly University at the Silver level. One of the primary concerns people have while biking is safety for themselves and their bikes. Luckily, riding a bike on campus is safe, and there are ways to protect yourself and your bike. Wearing bright clothing and a helmet while riding on the road, using a bike U-lock, and registering your bike with the University of Louisville Police are just a few simple steps to protect yourself. Also, bikes can be used in tandem with TARC to get anywhere in Louisville!

Bike Share Program

Students can check out a bike, helmet and lock free for the day at the Student Recreation Center. Longer-term bike loans for a semester or longer can also be requested through the UofL Bikeshare Program.
