Who is the Research Foundation of CUNY/Office of Academic Affairs?

Employees are paid through RF CUNY funds. For this reason, the paperwork provided will say you are an employee of RFCUNY. Please complete the necessary documentation and report to your CUNY Career Launch internship site supervisor .

The Office of Academic Affairs is responsible for overseeing a wide range of programs and initiatives within CUNY, as well as onboarding you to RF CUNY payroll.

Are CareerLaunch@cuny.edu and CareerLaunchPay@cuny.edu the same?

NO.

For program related support (absences, placement, matching, scheduling), email CareerLaunch@cuny.edu.

If you have questions regarding your onboarding process (hire packets, employment verification) and payroll (timesheets, benefits, etc) but cannot find answers on this site, email CareerLaunchPay@cuny.edu

What is my RF CUNY employee ID number?

Your CUNY EMPLID is different from your RF CUNY employee ID.

If you don't know what your RF CUNY ID # is please email CareerLaunchPay@cuny.edu with the subject line, "What is my ID#" with your first and last name.

For example: "What is my ID?" John Doe.

When can I start working?

Please note you CANNOT begin your internship until completion of all Workday tasks. With Career Launch, your start date will be July 1st, 2026 (Education Hub ONLY) or July 6th, 2026 (ALL other Hubs).

I have questions about my site placement, the matching fair, interviews, and InPlace? Who should I contact?

Site placement, Matching Fair (Interviews) - Concerns should be addressed directly with the main Career Launch program (CareerLaunch@cuny.edu) or your Hub (Healthcare/Marketing/STEM/Community/PEU/Education).

I think my class schedule will conflict with my internship hours. What should I do?

Concerns should be addressed immediately and directly with the main Career Launch program (CareerLaunch@cuny.edu) or your Hub (Healthcare/Marketing/STEM/Community?Education/Neighborhood)

Will I be paid for the first week of training and how long is the internship?

The duration of the Career Launch internship is dependent on your HUB: 7/1 or 7/6.

EDUCATION HUB ONLY: Begin employment at assigned internship site JULY 1st, 2026.
July 6th to July 10th: Pre-Internship Training Week for those who have a HIRE DATE OF JULY 6th, 20256
July 13th to August 21st: Employment begins at assigned internship site for those with a hire date of 7/1/2026 .

I am no longer interested in this internship. What should I do?
