This job posting is for Softionics, and is supported by KOTRA Silicon Valley.
본 공고는 Softionics의 요청으로 코트라 실리콘밸리가 지원합니다.
[About Company]
Softionics builds a vision-free near-field sensing layer for Physical AI, capturing space, time, and physical interaction data that vision-systems cannot. Our technology enables robots and smart devices to sense proximity, motion, and contact dynamics in real time. Softionics is a deep-tech startup developing non-contact sensing solutions based on proprietary electric field sensor technology, targeting robotics, wearables, and human-machine interaction applications. We are advancing from sensor circuit prototyping to full custom IC design.
[Job Responsibilities]
We are looking for a Robotics & Sensor Systems Software Engineer to build and operate the end-to-end data acquisition infrastructure — from reading raw electric field sensor data to synchronizing it with vision and robotic hand/arm systems. You will design the experimental environment that enables multimodal data collection for downstream ML model training.
Design and implement a real-time DAQ (Data Acquisition) system for electric field sensors
Build data ingestion, preprocessing, and storage pipelines
Integrate software with robotic hand/arm platforms (ROS/ROS2 or custom drivers)
Synchronize camera (vision) data with electric field sensor streams
Construct experimental environments for multimodal data collection (sensor + robot + camera)
Manage data quality: noise analysis, calibration, labeling workflows
Develop automation scripts and experiment management tooling
Define dataset format and delivery pipeline in collaboration with the ML team (Position 2B)
[Location] Bldg 35 Room 524-3, 1 Gwanak-ro, Gwanak-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea, 08826
[Job Type & Pay Range]
Conversion Internship
Negotiable based on experience and skill set
[Required Qualifications]
3+ years of experience in Python-based data acquisition and real-time signal processing
Hardware-software interface experience (serial/USB/SPI/I2C/Ethernet sensor or device control)
Basic computer vision knowledge and OpenCV experience
Familiarity with robotic systems (robot arm/hand) software
Multithreaded / asynchronous programming for data synchronization
Git-based version control and reproducible experiment practices
[Preferred Qualifications]
ROS / ROS2 robotics software development experience
Direct DAQ board experience (NI DAQ, Arduino, STM32, etc.)
Multimodal sensor fusion system development (IMU, cameras, capacitive/pressure sensors)
Experience with MediaPipe, DepthAI, Intel RealSense, or similar vision systems
C/C++ hardware driver or real-time control code writing experience
B.S. or higher in EE, CS, or Robotics
[Benefits]
Competitive salary commensurate with experience and skills
Stock options (based on contribution and negotiation, Not Right Now)
Flexible working hours (autonomous schedule)
Generous paid leave policy with tenure-based additional leave
Snacks and overtime meal allowance provided
Full support for job-related books, online courses, and conference attendance
AI development tools provided (Claude Code, Copilot, etc.)
Opportunities to participate in domestic and international R&D collaboration projects
Opportunity to work on cutting-edge electric field sensor technology at a deep-tech startup
Direct exposure to the full product development cycle from research to commercialization
