With two oral presentations, professors Alejandro Karelovic and Romel Jiménez stood out as keynote speakers at the Latin-America Workshop on Advanced In Situ and Operando Methodologies in Santa Fe, Argentina. The international event gathered leading regional and global experts to discuss advanced spectroscopic techniques that monitor chemical catalysts in real-time under actual operating conditions.

With four oral presentations and four posters, Carbocat concludes its participation in the Chilean Catalysis Conference, having also been involved in organizing the event. In this way, we continue to demonstrate our group's commitment to catalysis research in Chile. see our photos

Professor Karelovic visits ITQ as part of a collaborative project with Dr. Patricia Concepción and meets with Professor Romel (currently a visiting researcher at ITQ) and professor Avelino Corma and other researchers (Including Dr Daviel Gómez).

Professor Romel gave a lecture at the University of Malaga during his sabbatical semester in Professor Luis Alemany's group. 

Dr. Daviel Gómez, current ITQ postdoctoral researcher andalumni of CarboCat laboratory, was awarded the prize for best doctoral thesis, granted by the Catalysis and Adsorption Division of the Chilean Chemical Society, for his outstanding work on the hydrogenation of CO2 to methanol on modified Cu catalysts.
