Dr. Erika Brady's Garden: An Oppositional Aesthetic in Suburbia is a research paper written in Fall 2017 for Folk Art & Technology course with Dr. Michael Ann Williams focusing on the different aesthetics in backyard gardens in suburban developments. The communication and performance of backyards in suburbia are explored.

A version of this paper was presented in Columbus at the Indiana University/The Ohio State University Conference: Folklore at Work in February 2018.

Crafts Cooperatives and Crafts Marketing Programs of Eastern Kentucky is a digital oral history collection held at the Kentucky Historical Society's archive. The 36 interviews were conducted by Judy Sizemore in 2010-2011. The grant, written for the Public Folklore course in Fall 2017 by Dr. Tim Evans, from the Kentucky Oral History Commission covers the cost of transcribing the interviews from 13 craft cooperatives in 10 counties in eastern Kentucky.

The unit, Bosnian History and Refugee Experience, was a collaborative project completed in Spring 2017 by the Folklore and Education class with Dr. Tim Evans. My section of the unit, Part A: Using Maps, introduces students to basic researching skills and using maps to solve math problems. The two activities that make up the section fit the Kentucky Academic Standards for 4th-6th grade.

The Beaver Dam Creek Baptizing Center is located in Edmonson County, Kentucky. As part of the Fall 2016 Vernacular Architecture course with Dr. Michael Ann Williams, this draft nomination was created for the site. It is classified under Criteria A: Property associated with events that have made a significant contribution to the broad patterns of our history, and is argued to be a traditional cultural property.

An interview conducted by A. Kay Westhues with Tommy Bolton, a community member who lives next to Mammoth Cave National Park and is the treasurer for the Beaver Dam Creek Baptizing Center, was transcribed for the Ethnographic Overview and Assessment of Mammoth Cave National Park for the Fall 2016 Folklore Fieldwork course with Dr. Erika Brady. The interview covers topics about the history of the national park, local landmarks, Edmonson County, and the community's response to the park.

Field notes from an interview I conducted with Ronald Hanson for the Ethnographic Overview and Assessment of Mammoth Cave National Park, completed for the Folklore Fieldwork course in the Fall 2016 semester with Dr. Erika Brady. Mr. Hanson's father was a park ranger for his entire life and he discussed his experience growing up in the Mammoth Cave region, including attending an integrated high school in the 1950s.
