As you can see here, if I set the launcher to be any color, it works perfectly for the topbar, but not for the launcher. When I set "based on wallpaper", again works for the topbar, but the launcher turns in that dark grey.

I have tried all, I know it's not crucial, but I'm pissed off now!. I have been even looking at the .css files of ambiance, trying to find a block about the launcher and tweak it manually, but I couldn't do it. (I'm a CSS illiterate though)

Also there have been, from what I hear, some issues involving skins on the Launcher. Upload your skin to your account on Minecraft.net, and it'll be on your character on the Launcher. It may not show up on the Launcher but it'll show up in-game.

Not only is this a total necro, but this would only make you see the default skin as whatever you put without solving the original problem (?), is (in a small way) advocating piracy, and the technic launcher doesn't even use the .techniclauncher directory any more....

Oh, you've been insulted. By one person. On the internet. It wasn't even really that much of an insult, and I, in fact, meant it as criticism rather than attacking you. Here's some advice, if you'll take it: a thicker skin does the community a world of good.

The reason it might show up incorrectly in the launcher (White head) is because Paint can't handle transparency. So it colours all transparent parts white instead, including the parts where your "hat" goes. Minecraft recognizes this and will simply not show the hat at all, but Technic Launcher doesn't and your head will be covered with white.

This article lists third-party RetroFE themes and Gmenu2x skins. While the RetroFE and Gmenu2x launchers already have the Classic, EmuStation, Flat, FunKey, RetroDex, TFT and Default, GCW, ScanlinesBlue, ScalinesRed default themes, respectively, users seeking to customize their devices further may do so using one of the additional theme options below. Should you need to re-download the EmuStation or RetroDex RetroFE themes, their files are located here and here, respectively.

Once this is done, eject the FunKey S and navigate to the SET THEME section of the RetroFE menu. To make the new theme appear on the theme list, switch RetroFE to a different theme than the current one. Once you return to the theme list after this, the new theme will be listed alongside the default ones. If your device's screen goes black upon changing to the new theme, there is an issue with that theme's files. To remove the theme, and thus allow the device to default to the Classic theme, begin by booting the device into recovery mode by closing it, reopening it, and immediately pressing down the FN and Start buttons simultaneously until the FunKey S logo and a wrench and screwdriver icon appears on the screen. Once you see the word INFO in the top left corner, press the down button once to change it to USB MOUNT. After plugging the device into your computer, press the A button to mount the device to your computer and navigate to the /mnt/FunKey/.retrofe/layouts file location. After deleting the new theme's folder and reverting the changes made to the layouts.list file, press the A button again to unmount the FunKey S from your computer (if you are using a Mac, you will need to first eject the device from the computer). Once the device is closed and reopened once more, it will boot back into RetroFE, defaulting to the Classic theme.

If a significant revision is made to one of the existing themes, it will be listed as a separate version of that theme for users to choose should they wish to. Theme versions highlighted in yellow include parallax scrolling backgrounds.

As the FunKey S is capable of emulating both the Sega Genesis (Mega Drive) and it's add-ons, an alternative icon of the console including the add-ons can be downloaded here for use with any of the three RetroRoom themes listed above. To apply the alternative icon to one of the themes, simply extract the theme folder, navigate to the Sega Genesis system_artwork subfolder (ex. /Downloads/RetroRoomCovers/collections/Sega Genesis/system_artwork), and replace the existing device_W240.png file with the alternative one. Once the image is replaced, the new icon will be visible when viewing the theme on the FunKey S.

To use one of the Gmenu2x skins listed below, begin by downloading and extracting its associated ZIP file. With the FunKey S mounted to your computer, copy and paste the generated folder into the /mnt/FunKey/.gmenu2x/skins/240x240 section of the FunKey S file system and eject the FunKey S. If you don't see the .gmenu2x folder, your computer's Unix-based operating system is hiding hidden folders. To enable the viewing of such folders on MacOS, use the Shift+Cmd+Period key combination. To do so on ChromeOS, click the three-dot icon at the top-right of the Files application and select the Show hidden folders option. Once this is done, navigate to the Settings tab of Gmenu2x and select the Skin application, where you can switch to the newly installed skin. In selecting a skin to download, be aware that each has three versions based on how many icons are displayed on-screen at once, with either two icons vertically and horizontally, three icons vertically and two icons horizontally, or three icons vertically and horizontally. To adjust a skin beyond the options provided here, change the parameters listed in its .conf file.

Sample screenshots of extra themes:

It's like ZDL but focused on minimalism, functionality, and stability. Everything you need to know about using it is found in the README, or if you downloaded the program, by pressing F1 while it's open.

It's worth noting that I didn't make the launcher. I made most of the additional themes and offered testing feedback for Accensus (the developer). Regardless, this is open to feedback! Quality of life requests are always welcome. Remember that this launcher's core value is to be minimalistic, so please don't suggest anything that'll turn it into something like Doom Mod Loader.

it is safe to say that this has usurped ZDL, which briefly usurped rocket launcher as my frontend of choice, despite being marginally feature light in comparison to each.

i like the very no-nonsense design, and the themes are fun!

"drag and drop only" is mostly a nonissue, and might only really an issue under 2 scenarios: at the very beginning, when there are no defined mod presets with files that can have their location opened externally in explorer by the launcher, and/or there is poor organization of a user's pwad collection (was the case with me before 2016, might be the case for some others, but using a frontend tends to incentivize more sensible wad and engine organization).

i almost miss being able to open up a "load file(s)" window, but if at least one mod preset is saved, and your pwads aren't all over the drive, right clicking on a file in the loader and going to "open file location" accomplishes something very similar.

the only thing i do not like so far is this:

despite appearance, only one of the four Chocolate Doom 3.0.1's listed here is Chocolate Doom 3.0.1.

this leads me to a possible feature request:

user defined engine names?

i would like to be able to know from a glance which one of the above is choco heretic, hexen or strife instead of guessing which one is which, or having to remember the order in which i added them in.

other than that? i have run into no issue so far with how it launches the dooms or other id tech 1 games and engines with any of the set parameters.

Thank god, finally a launcher that doesn't feel like it's stuck in the mid-00s! While I know there are many current and still updating (I think) options right now, Acecorp feels like such a step up from ZDL and other launchers, it's not even funny. This will definitely become my de facto launcher for just about anything.

-launcher/-/releases/v1.4.0

Edit: If you've downloaded v1.4.0, if you start the launcher without any internet, ACL will crash unless you turn off the check for updates feature in Config.xml. There will be a new version pretty soon that fixes this and other bugs, among some new features so please hang tight until then. 152ee80cbc
