Fragrance & Illness Policy Agreement

Fragrance Free Policy

My studio is strictly fragrance-free due to a severe immune disorder that causes me to swell, lose my voice, and go into anaphylaxis from even small exposures to fragrance. Some of my worst triggers include perfume, cologne, scented lotion, essential oils, hair products, strong food smells, and fragranced laundry products. Even mild or “natural” scents can trigger a severe reaction.

As such, everyone attending the session must be completely fragrance-free. Regrettably, if a scent begins to trigger a reaction, I will need to end the session immediately. Please understand that this risk is one reason I do not charge for these sessions.

I understand this requires extra effort, but it is critical for safety.

Illness/Virus Policy

As newborns’ immune systems are still developing — and I am immunosuppressed — no one may attend the session if they are sick, recovering from illness, recently exposed, or experiencing any symptoms, no matter how mild.

Please notify me as early as possible if illness arises. If we decide to reschedule, I’ll be happy to do so. Please note that if illness becomes apparent during the session, I may need to end it for safety reasons.

Disability

I want to be transparent about the fact that I am disabled. As such, I navigate certain physical limitations, but I have systems in place to ensure every session runs smoothly. I always have an assistant present to help with tasks like spotting and positioning — your baby’s safety is always top priority.

Due to my limitations, I take extra care in planning each session, and am fully committed to providing the best experience possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out — I’m happy to explain further!

Social Media/Portfolio Consent

One of the reasons I don't charge for these sessions is to grow my portfolio and gain experience. As such, I would love to share a few images from your session on my site/portfolio. For privacy reasons, I always refer to baby as “Baby [First Initial].”

Please note that the offer of a free session is in no way contingent upon you allowing me to share your images. Your decision on whether or not to share will not affect your session in any way. Your privacy is my priority, and I am committed to honoring that.
