How do I import a video?
Tap Import Video on the Home screen and pick a clip from Photos or Files. Captionly supports MP4, MOV, and most common video formats up to 4K.
How long does transcription take?
Most clips finish in 1030 seconds depending on length. Captionly uses Apple's Speech Recognition, so a stable connection helps for the most accurate results.
How do I edit a caption?
Swipe left on any caption in the list for the Edit shortcut, or tap a caption to jump the playhead. Drag the segment on the timeline to retime it, or tap-and-hold a caption on the video preview to drag it to a new position.
How do I change the style?
Tap Style in the bottom toolbar for full control of font, color, animation, and background. Tap Presets to switch between the 50 premium animated styles.
Can I use my own fonts?
Yes open Fonts Upload Font and pick a .ttf or .otf file from the Files app. Your fonts stay on your device.
Why is the export slow or stuck?
Try a lower resolution (1080p HD) or shorter clip. 4K renders can take several minutes on older devices. Make sure to keep the app in the foreground while exporting.
How do I cancel my subscription?
iPhone Settings Apple ID Subscriptions Captionly Pro Cancel Subscription. Apple handles billing we don't have access to your payment info.
What about the 7-day free trial?
First-time subscribers get 7 days free. You won't be charged until day 8, and you can cancel anytime during the trial with no charge.
Does Captionly work without internet?
The editor, styling, and export work fully offline. Speech transcription works best with internet but falls back to on-device recognition if you're offline.
