Class Assignments
--All work must be received by the set deadlines for credit. Late work will receive feedback but no grade. (The only exception to this rule is the final draft of the essay--late essays will be graded but penalized two letter grades.)
--We'll do a short writing, editing, or research assignment at the start of many classes. You can't make these up, so please be on time.
Plagiarism/Academic Dishonesty
--Plagiarism, whether of entire papers or uncited sections within academic journals, news articles, or books, means an automatic failing grade on the assignment--and, depending on the situation, failure of the class, suspension, or expulsion. This holds true even if the plagiarism is unintentional.
Attendance and Participation
--There will be plenty of opportunities to contribute to the class discussion. If you participate, you get the points for the day. The more engaged everybody is, the more rewarding the class will be.
--Arriving late, leaving early, or doing non-Capstone work in class will result in the loss of participation points for the day. During week 8/9's practice presentations, participation points will be based on providing feedback to speakers.
