The opinion survey asked Angelenos about their interest in environmental justice. The policy that was proposed was a 2,500-foot health and safety buffer between oil drilling sites and residential communities in Wilmington, CA. Along with questions related to the policy, the survey asked for demographic information such as racial identity, gender identity, and the community they reside in. The survey also asked about the health conditions of residents (whether they had any breathing issues or concerns about air quality). This data was collected to demonstrate community interest in advocating for an issue greater than themselves.
