Communities, particularly youth, thrive when given the opportunities and resources needed to express themselves and their lived experiences. We provide a range of programming for artists, school-aged youth, and and the wider Anacostia community.

The after-school murals program is offered to elementary, middle, and high school students on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4:30pm to 7pm.

From April 21st to May 18th, the CHBC introduced the Anacostia Murals Festival to connect the Wards and to exhibit the work of dozens of muralists. Attendees had the opportunity to watch blank walls transform into beautiful, inspiring works of art. With the support of the community, this event will be put on for many years to come!
