The Alexandria A Cappella Collective (AACC) is an award winning singing organization based in Alexandria, Virginia, that specializes in one of a cappella's most challenging forms; four-part close harmony. The organization's TTBB chorus, The Harmonizers, was founded in 1948 and the SSAA chorus, Metro Voices was added in 2022. Capital Force, the newly added seasonal youth chorus, rejoined the organization in 2024 after a decade long hiatus.
This ensemble will continue the organization's main style of a cappella and welcome rising 8th-12th grade students of all vocal ranges from the DC-Maryland-Virginia area. We are looking for passionate, dedicated students who love to sing and want to expand their knowledge about vocal technique and ensemble singing. Being a part of this ensemble will require students to practice their music outside of rehearsal using practice tracks and other resources in order to come fully prepared each week. (Please note that 7th graders are accepted on a case by case basis with a recommendation from both a parent and teacher.)
Rehearsals are Sunday Afternoons starting October 26 and ending at our March Showcase.
October 26th's rehearsal will include voice placing, an informal audition, and more detailed information about the season. Undecided participants who want to check it out should plan to attend the first rehearsal as it does not commit you to the ensemble, yet.
No Rehearsal on: November 30th & December 28th
Show Date - INFO TBD
Rehearsals will be in Alexandria, Virginia (Zip Code 22302/22314). Exact rehearsal location will be sent via email to registered participants as to keep the rehearsal space a safe and secure location.
Students participating in Capital Force will be a part of a unique musical experience that will not only provide a fun outlet for music making outside of school; but will also be a venue for students to continue their education and training around vocal music and technique. Capital Force Singers will be exposed to globally renowned musicians, coached by the top judges and singers in their field, and be a part of a 75+ year singing organization rich in history and community status. It is a great college resume builder as well as a wonderful outlet for young people to express themselves authentically through song.
