While certification may not be required when initially obtaining employment as a Permit Technician at the entry level, most employers will require a tech to obtain certification within so many months of starting their role. While the Permit Technician exam is an open-book test, it is highly encouraged you become familiar with required text and codes for optimal performance and alleviation of any test anxiety prior to taking the exam.
