How to Sign Up for Oktoberfest Bar Shifts

Click the drop down arrow next to “Bars” in the menu of this web page.
- Read the Bar Descriptions.
- Review the Bar Map.
Review the following general information:

We don’t allow volunteers to work more than one shift a day.
Make sure you pay attention to the times you sign up for since a few shifts run 2-6pm or 6-10pm, which are different times than most other shifts.
If you can work late, it is helpful if you sign up for an 8pm-12am shift. (The more 8pm-12am shifts you work, the higher your priority is to receive limited hats or t-shirts we get.)
If you are a single volunteer, please consider signing up for a spot that has an odd number of openings. (This keeps two-spot openings available for couples.)
If you are a single volunteer and flexible to move to a different bar (same day/time), please enter Flexible to the applicable question during sign up.
If your desired shift is filled, check back periodically for cancellations or send us an email to be put on a wait list.
The schedule and bar locations are subject to change and volunteer spots are not guaranteed. We will do the best we can to accommodate your preferences if we need to reschedule you.

Go to the SignUp Oktoberfest Bar Schedule (Review the below section in its entirety before signing up.)

3.1 Select a day.

3.2 Click on SIGN UP for the spot you want to work.

3.2.1 Enter your contact information making sure to enter your First and Last Name. (We need full names for check-in and also because some prior volunteers have been blacklisted, LOL! Note: Your email address and phone number will not be visible publicly.)

3.2.3 Under “# of Spots” DO NOT CHANGE THE NUMBER FROM 1 even if you will be signing up an additional volunteer (see step 3.2.5 later).

3.2.4 If this is your first time signing up, uncheck “Count me in for updates and special offers from SignUp!” or else you will get email ads.

3.2.5 If you will also be signing up an additional volunteer, then at the bottom of the screen click the button that says “Save and Add Another Person.” (If this button is not displayed, you likely did not follow step 3.2.3.)

Enter the First and Last Name and Cell Number of the additional volunteer.
Entering the Email Addresses is not mandatory, but doing so will enable them to sign in to the bar schedule, get reminder emails, and allow us to email them reporting instructions.
Failure to enter names for each volunteer will result in your spot, as well as your additional volunteer's spot, to be eventually auto-deleted and the spots reopened.

3.2.6 Click Save and Done

3.3 After a half hour, check your email (and SPAM) for a confirmation email and make sure you signed up for the right weekend. The email will have an “Add to calendar” link, please add your spots to your calendar.

It is important you get the confirmation email to verify the email address since we will use that address to send you instructions.

General Information and Tips

- - You never need a password. (Don't click on "Register." If you ever misclick and get asked for a password, go back and click the SignUp Oktoberfest Bar Schedule link again.)
  - The ads on SignUp are annoying and sometimes get stuck and can’t be closed. Try refreshing your screen or go back and click the SignUp Oktoberfest Bar Schedule link again.
  - How to view only spots that are available:
    - If using a computer, on the right side of the screen check the box for “Hide Full Spots.”
    - If using a phone, go to the menu symbol at the upper right of the SignUp screen and click "Swap on Desktop," then on the right side of the screen check the box for “Hide Full Spots.” (Note: If using a phone, you must have already signed into SignUp sometime in the past or you won't see the menu symbol. Also, hiding full spots on a phone is not ideal because the desktop view removes mobile formatting which results in the need to do scrolling to see the right side of the screen.)
  - How to find spots you have already signed up for:
    - If using a computer, sign in with your email and on the right side of the screen check the box for “Show My Spots.”
    - If using a phone, sign in with your email and click on the menu symbol at the upper right of the screen and then click "My Spots."
  - If you made a mistake and signed up for multiple spots at a bar but did not enter the other volunteers' names:
  - Sign in with your email and go to the SignUp page and click on each bar spot you need to update.
  - Change the "# of Spots" to 1.
  - At the bottom of the screen click "Save and Add Another Person" and

enter the other volunteer's First and Last Name, Cell Number, and Email Address (useful but not mandatory).
