2023 Symposium

For 2023 Symposium, it will be a joint effort between CAPA-DC and our sister organization - the North Carolina-Taiwan Professional and Scholar Society (NCTPASS) 北卡臺灣菁英協會.  The tentative date is November 4th, 2023 Saturday, at The Universities at Shady Grove.

The symposium will cover both Cancer Research and Cybersecurity, in two separated morning and afternoon sessions respectively.  We will also invite scholars from Taiwan to participate in a forum format to have deep discussions.

We're looking for volunteers to support this expanded joint symposium of 2023.  Please email capa.dc@gmail.com, if you would like to participate or contribute.

Each year, the CAPA annual symposium affords the opportunity for scholars and professionals from the US and Taiwan to exchange ideas and engaging interactions. During the symposium, speakers and audiences discuss several hot topics, addressing important and emerging needs of Taiwan society such as: diplomacy and politics, finance and enterprise development, agricultural development, science and technology development, environmental protection, transportation construction, culture and education, medicine and public health, and social benefit. In addition to annual symposiums, mini-seminars or special study sessions addressing interesting topics are also being held from time to time.

Another characteristic of CAPA members is their member's high academic and professional achievements. Many CAPA members have achieved outstanding career in scientific research and development fields. Many have attained senior positions with various U.S. government agencies. Some members hold prestigious professorship at the leading universities and research institutions in the Washington DC area. Few entrepreneurs have successfully run their own companies in IT services, environmental engineering services and government consulting businesses. A few have even reached the rank of Senior Executive Service, while several others have achieved prestigious position as members of Academia Sinica.

One of CAPA's future goals is to reach out to our American organizations to collaborate in sponsoring mutually-benefited programs and activities. With the diverse professional expertise of its membership, CAPA is in a pivotal position to continue rendering its advisory and think tank services and also act as a catalyst for enriching the intellectual interest of the Chinese American professionals.
