SPECIAL NOTE* - Some information will only be present on Schoology (music, recordings, pictures) because it's more secure. Please join the schoology group for your choir. The code for the Schoology Group is located via e-mail with Mr. Hammersmith or with a quick code located in the Music Classroom 307.
STANDARD CHOIR UNIFORM (Home performances, District Festivals, etc.)
All students participating in choir for performances will wear the following uniform:
Choir Shirt or All Black T-Shirt
Jeans (Winter season) or Tan Shorts (Spring & Fall)
Sneakers
FORMAL CHOIR UNIFORM (Competitions, Travel, etc.)
For more formal events, choir students will wear the following uniform:
All black (top, pants, and shoes)
MUSICAL THEATER COSTUMES
For students involved in Musical Theater, students are responsible for acquiring a costume appropriate for their character. Please keep in mind that numerous funds aren't necessary to purchase a costume of some sort. Keep it simple! Students can inquire with Mr. Hammersmith regarding the nature of their costume and what we're looking for in the show.

Welcome all 2025 - 2026 Canyon Ridge Choir & Musical Theater Students! Please begin looking over the entire website and what's available here. It's always helpful if you bookmark this site and keep checking it at least once a week to stay updated. If Mr. Hammersmith knows about something, it'll be placed on this website.
8th Grade Choir Students: Please look at the Willow Canyon Audition Information sent to us by their director. Auditions are approaching!
ARIZONA DIAMONDBACK TICKETS - APRIL 2, 2026
If you wish to participate in the National Anthem performance at the AZ Diamondback Stadium, please purchase your tickets ahead of time to have them ready for the game.

Mr. Hammersmith
My name is Mr. Hammersmith and I’m the Music, Choir, & Theater Teacher at Canyon Ridge School! Music is an important part of my life and I enjoy educating others to find their love for music. It’s a critical part of our education and creates a well-rounded student enhancing their creativity and expression. I grew up and received my education in Colorado. I received my Bachelor of Arts at Colorado State University in Music Education and my Master of Arts Degree at Adams State University in Music Education. I perform as a vocalist and instrumentalist on a variety of instruments. In my spare time, I compose and arrange music. I’m also a private studio instructor educating students on all Woodwind & Brass Instruments, Piano, and Vocal. When I’m not teaching or playing music, I spend time with my family, cook, travel, tour, and volunteer. My goals as an educator is to provide a safe and structured learning environment that provides numerous opportunities for performances, growth, and development in the music field.
