The "Ceramics identification- A Potter’s Touch" kit contains a variety of pottery sherds from the Northern San Juan region and allows the learner to become the curator as they identify features of pot sherds such as color, design, finishes, thickness, and more to identify their origin location and time period. Their investigation will continue as they identify the vessel that the pottery sherd came from. These discoveries will allow them to make inferences about who made the ceramic items and how they might have been used, leading us to know more about the lives of the potters who made them.
