Huge Contract Win Spring 2022: This is a 3-year contract where we got raises for each member of about 7%, 4%, and 4% and increased the insurance allotment yearly. We increased personal/emergency leave from 3 days to 5, increased prep time and made it equitable K-12, and protected comp time. We changed bereavement to be more general on who is family and friends. We updated the language to protect more groups, corrected language and formatting throughout the contract, reorganized sections for consistency.
March 12, 2020 - One week before Spring break we went on what was called a 2-week extended break due to Covid. We remained out of the building for the rest of the school year. In this time we worked with our administrators to come up with "amazing ways" (aka weekly packets) to our students.
Huge Contract Win Winter 2020 - The CEA members packed the Canby School District Board room to propel us to a huge win! This is when CEA read the letter, Our Story as Canby Educators Over the Past 10 Years, to advocate for continued negotiations. Our contract win included the largest wage increase in a long time (3% & 4% COLA respectively) and codified and put rules around compensatory time.
