Women’s March Malaysia is a collective of individuals and activists, as part of the international movement, dedicated to advocating for women’s rights, gender equality and social justice in Malaysia. It emerged as a response to various issues affecting women, such as gender-based violence, discrimination and inequality.
Following the outbreak of COVID-19, the Women's March Malaysia 2022 committee organised a picnic protest. Themed “Rise:Resist”, the protest is a nod towards the perseverance and commitment to speak truth to power and fight for their human rights - despite an extraordinarily difficult two years that have impacted all in Malaysia personally, professionally and politically.
In addition to coordinating and conducting the picnic protest at Tasik Taman Jaya, we devised and implemented social media strategies to maximise awareness and mobilise public participation, all while prioritising the safety of participants.
Leading a team of illustrators, we conceptualised and oversaw the production of all graphic materials, including posters and infographics.
We also developed and curated content for these infographics and social media collaterals, resulting in heightened engagement and audience attraction for the campaign.
