This switch version of Skyward Sword was my first time playing Skyward Sword. I definitely encountered a couple scenarios where the control scheme annoyed me, but I pushed through it, and there's some good zelda in there. If it was a bad zelda, I wouldn't have played it to the end.
People who are mad about Skyward Sword are generally transparent about being bad at games that have remotely different control ideas. At least Star Fox Zero has the excuse of the more reasonable control option being an option you have to switch to, this one added more options to the original game that are clear that they are there.
