I'd like to run Google Earth on a PC that does not have internet access. This was possible in NASA Worldwind if you downloaded all of the maps and stored them offline. However, I have yet to see such documentation for Google Earth.

I've seen the links mentioned below and also the 3D Viewer Navigation. The problem is that this PC will NEVER have internet access. I'm looking to find a way to copy the data over, so getting online, filling up 2GB of cache and then getting offline is not the end solution.

Can I Download Google Earth Maps For Offline Use

When I'm out exploring, I enjoy using google maps satellite view. But once there's no signal, it doesn't work. Downloading a map for offline use on the maps app doesn't include satellite data. Gaia GPS does have offline satellite maps, but only at a much lower resolution compared to Google.

I've read about using Google Earth to save satellite info for offline use, but I haven't been able to get that to work correctly. It seems like you can only do it for limited areas. I'm trying to get the data for about 2,500 square miles.

ArcGIS Earth provides immersive 3D experiences for both online and offline usage. The capability to work offline was introduced at ArcGIS Earth 1.2, and it has been continually improved since then. Now ArcGIS Earth users are offered better user experiences, more options, and greater flexibility.

Users can also add KML/KMZ files, scene layer packages, tile packages, and raster data as local basemaps, and add raster data of the LERC tile format (Limited Error Raster Compression) as local terrain.

Mobile scene packages are designed to take your scenes and content offline for use across the ArcGIS Platform. They are already supported in the initial release of ArcGIS Earth for mobile and will be supported in the coming ArcGIS Earth 1.10 desktop release. Users can work with a disconnected globe in offline environments by preparing everything you need in a mobile scene package. Similarly, when creating mobile scene packages, you can add basemaps and terrain, specify usage limitations, add custom locators, and so forth, before you go offline.

I have a use case that requires offline access to google earth. I know that google earth enterprise offers a disconnected product, however we may not have access to that product and/or google earth enterprise is prohibitively expensive at $25K for a dev license.

I would prefer to use the google earth plugin since I am building an application and would like to use the JS api. Is it possible to host the google earth plugin on my own disconnected server? We would use google earth connected to a standalone offline WMS server for access to imagery.

Im my current application with google earth plugin js api, I'm able to start the plugin even if offline. But one requirement is to have cached data.If you have cached data and if you start the plugin offline, then zooming to a level with higher resolution that the one you have in your cached data will have no effect (imagery will not be update to higher resolution)

I have used Map Factor for off-line maps for years and it has done a good job. Ran across a post about Magic Earth offline maps and thought I would give it a try. It has a some additional features that I like. Info can be found here . You can also download it from Google play. Thought I would pass in on in case anyone is looking for Offline maps for their phone with extra options..

If you want more, you can also set up your own rendering, and use it with Marble. But that would require a quite heavy computer, and it's not documented how to achieve it in Marble (because they are afraid people will use it to display proprietary maps).

If you have Marble installed you'll have an "/usr/share/kde4/apps/marble/data/maps/earth/openstreetmap" directory with an "openstreetmap.dgml" file in it. In there you can see how the tile servers are configured.

My question is this:

Can I download maps into Mission Planner, and use the software 100% offline to a) fly transects (which I think is a YES) and b) create new transects/waypoints, onto pre-saved google earth maps in the programme?

Google Earth, Google's digital mapping software, allows users to see aerial images of different locations across the globe, along with layers of additional information such as photographs, user comments and three-dimensional models. Available for iOS on an iPod touch, the mobile version of the application can also be a useful tool for a small business, equipping traveling representatives with updated geographic information on a client site or even for technical analysis and presentations in such fields as architecture and city planning. For those times when your small business travel takes you and your iPod far from a Wi-Fi hotspot, you can also use the application's cached memory to view limited areas offline.

Clear your cache to make room for the data you want to see offline. Touch the circular "i" icon in the lower right-hand corner of the screen to open the options window and touch "Clear Cache." Confirm your selection by touching "Clear Cache" again in the confirmation dialog box that appears.

View the areas you wish to access when offline. Move your screen over to the tiles you wish to see offline and allow them to load fully. Watch the streaming indicator that appears below and slightly to the right of the map images. When the indicator is full, the image has loaded completely and a copy of the files has been stored in your iPod's cache.

Is there any way to install and run Google Earth Pro totally offline? Actually if there is not internet access on specific computer and I want to run Google Earth Pro on that computer. What is the useful technique to copy cache from one computer (which is connected to the internet) to another computer. I have tried to copy Cache files to the offline computer. But it didn't work.Is there any solution?I have Windows 10Google Earth Pro version 7.3.2.5776

You can run an offline cache from one computer to other. But you need to connect your computer at least one time so that you can install software. Then just copy that cache and copy paste it to specific file path.

All of the S5P datasets, except CH4, have two versions: Near Real-Time (NRTI) and Offline (OFFL). CH4 is available as OFFL only. The NRTI assets cover a smaller area than the OFFL assets, but appear more quickly after acquisition. The OFFL assets contain data from a single orbit (which, due to half the earth being dark, contains data only for a single hemisphere).

What sort of maps are you looking for? What functionality do you need from this map? If you want to use something similar to google maps, but offline, I would recommend google earth. There are a few existing examples of using various releases of google earth in LabVIEW posted on the NI Community, this one is reasonably recent and looks straightforward:

Most of these basemaps require internet access, including the default basemap. If you do not have reliable access to the internet, you can use strategies such as downloading a selection of basemaps onto your local system or displaying data over the "darkwater" basemap. Some strategies require MATLAB to have temporary internet access and other strategies do not require MATLAB to have internet access. Different strategies support different types of map displays.

When you have internet access, you can download the basemaps created using Natural Earth onto your local system. The basemaps hosted by Esri are not available for download. Then, when you are in an offline environment, you can use the downloaded basemaps.

When you are in an offline environment and attempt to view basemap tiles that you have not previously viewed, MATLAB issues a warning and displays different tiles depending on the type of basemap. When you attempt to view tiles created using Natural Earth, MATLAB displays "darkwater" tiles. When you attempt to view tiles from a custom basemap or tiles hosted by Esri, you see missing map tiles.

When you have internet access, you can read an image from a basemap or a Web Map Service (WMS) server as a spatially referenced image and save the image as a MAT or GeoTIFF file. Then, when you are in an offline environment, you can load the image from the file and use it as a base layer for your data.

Vector map tiles enable you to customize the appearance of the basemap and typically include higher zoom levels than raster map tiles. For information about customizing the appearance of vector basemaps, see Customize Appearance of Vector Basemaps.

Mapping Toolbox includes a vector MBTiles file, naturalearth.mbtiles, with low-zoom levels of region and land boundaries. Create a custom basemap from the file. Specify the appearance of the basemap, including the colors and fonts, using a predefined topographic style. Predefined styles do not require internet access. For information about vector basemap styles, including limitations in offline environments, see the Style argument on the addCustomBasemap reference page.

When you are in an offline environment, you can read a spatially referenced raster image from a file and then use it as a base layer for your data. The function you use to read the data depends on the file format.

Read a GeoTIFF image of Boston into the workspace as an array and a map cells reference object. Then, display the image on a map. Use the mapshow function when the reference object is a map reference object and use the geoshow function when the reference object is a geographic reference object.

When you are in an offline environment, you can read spatially referenced vector data from a file and then use it as a base layer for your data. Read vector data in formats such as shapefile by using the readgeotable function.
