Hello!
Thank you for considering signing your child up for Camp Sticky Kisses this summer. I am excited to serve you and your family with this great responsibility. As a mother myself, I understand how important and stressful it can be to make summer plans for your kids. When my husband and I first married, I was blessed with two daughters right away. I was shocked at how difficult it was to find reasonable summer programs for my girls! My hope is that through Camp Sticky Kisses, you can find three weeks of dependable and solid summer programing for your child, so you can feel confident and peaceful!
My background is in the hospitality industry, working in hotels and country clubs. I graduated from Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2015. I worked as Kids Activities and Event Coordinator at a country club in Charlotte; eventually taking on the Director of Catering position. A few years later, I was given the opportunity to become a high school Family & Consumer Sciences teacher, teaching Culinary Arts & Hospitality Management at a high school in Concord, North Carolina. When my family relocated to the Myrtle Beach area in 2018, I have continued to teach Family & Consumer Sciences (currently at Andrews High School), but have also started my own event planning company: Sticky Kisses Party Planning. As the Kids Activities an Event Coordinator at the country club in Charlotte, I was responsible for the summer camp program at the club. I loved this part of my job! Every summer, I looked forward to being the Camp Director and growing the program to 30-50 kids each week at my camps. Even after I started teaching, I came back to the club each summer to run the camps, until we officially relocated here. Now as a Myrtle Beach resident, I am excited to bring my expertise to the Burgess, Surfside, Garden City, and Socastee area!
My years of teaching has fine-tuned my planning skills for summer camps. Each activity planned for Camp Sticky Kisses has an underlying purpose. But don't worry, it won't be boring or anything like a "classroom!" Some examples of activities that your child can experience as a camper at Camp Sticky Kisses include:
Being an archeologist and digging for "dinosaur fossils"
Being an engineer and designing a cardboard boat that will float with the most weight on it
Testing a hypothesis to see which soda bottle will have the biggest explosion when Mentos are added
Being an artist and making watercolor painting
Trying out fashion design and making an outfit for a doll
Exploring a cardboard box maze
Working as a team to finish a photo scavenger hunt
So much more!
Each age group will have activities that are appropriate for their knowledge base, skill, and abilities. Every child will be able to succeed and have a great time doing all of these fun activities throughout the days of camp.
