  • GRADES OF "D" OR "F": If you receive a grade of "D" or "F" in an "a-g" course, it is important to repeat that course for a grade of "C" or higher. A grade of "D" or "F" will hurt your chances of admissions to a California public college (UC or CSU). You can repeat a course in summer school to make up that grade.   • TUTORING: There are many ways to get extra help in a subject area or for ACT/SAT studying. Local college and high school students offer their services, and there are several tutoring companies available in Lamorinda and Walnut Creek. Referrals can be found online using apps like NEXTDOOR and YELP.
