I didn't know what global climate change was until I was in 5th grade. Still, as a rising senior in high school, I find that my peers are only just grasping an understanding of the concept.  It is my belief that the younger generation can't afford to have that luxury.  Global climate change is having devastating impacts already, which are expected to worsen. It is my hope, as the director of Camp Footprint for the second year, that we can counteract the damage done.  As the co-president of Urth Club at Torrey Pines High School, I have experience in public speaking and getting others to take action. Also, I have volunteered at the Helen Woodward Critter Camp with kindergarten, elementary, and middle schoolers. I have babysat a range of children, including infants and those in their teens. Not to mention, I am certified in CPR, AED, and first aid. Your camper and your planet will be safe with me!

Hi Camp Footprint! My name is Belle and I am super excited to be teaching environmental education and awareness this summer. I am a college student who loves working with kids, being outside, and improving my global footprint every day. I've previously worked on issues like nature restoration, helping endangered plant and animal species, and fighting climate change. I have also been with organizations like Helen Woodward Animal Shelter, St. Peters Thrift Store, Torrey Pines State Lifeguards, and Girl Scouts for years.  I am first aid and CPR certified, and have Lifeguard training. Although I've traveled to places like Costa Rica saving baby turtles, San Diego is my home and there's still a lot of work to do even on the beautiful beaches of Del Mar, so let's get started! Join Camp Footprint to see how you can make a difference and feel free to contact me with any questions!

Hi! My name is Sophia Lesser and I am a soon-to-be junior at Torrey Pines High school. I love being involved with our environment in any way that I can, whether it’s picking up trash at the beach or running on the beautiful San Diego trails. One of my big goals is to help protect, restore, and conserve our local ecosystem. By educating the future generation about the environment and how we can care for it, I hope to make a positive difference in our community. I love hanging out with kids and I’m passionate about advocating for the environment. I’m so excited to be a part of Camp Footprint!

Hi! My name is Katie Friedman and I'm an upcoming senior at Torrey Pines High School. I love the outdoors whether I am running, hiking, reading a book, or having a picnic. In 2020, I started going on walks with mom to pick up trash around my neighborhood which is when my awareness of the necessity of helping our planet really arose.  My global climate change awareness has grown while being a part of Urth Club to help spread awareness of global warming and make eco-friendly impacts around our community. I got involved with the creation of Camp Footprint with the hope to help spread this awareness to younger children so as they get older, they can do their part to help our planet. I've babysat kids from ages 4-13 for multiple families, so I have experience in watching and leading children. I'm very excited to help out at Camp Footprint this summer, and I will make sure your camper will have a fun time while also learning about our planet!

Hi, my name is Ava! I love art, sports and all things science, as well as working with kids and sharing my interests. I am extremely passionate about education and improving my community and have worked in multiple volunteer organizations. After having lived in different states and thus experiencing different climates, I’ve seen firsthand the influence that we can make on the environment. Through Camp Footprint, I aim to teach learners about climate change and the impact that they have on the Earth.

Hi, I'm Evelyn Lawson and I can't wait to teach the campers at Camp Footprint all about the environment and our impact on it! I'm a rising junior at Torrey Pines High school, and the environment is something I'm very passionate about. I love going on walks or runs along the beach, and getting involved in ways such as volunteering at different events or going on trash cleanups. My goal as part of Camp Footprint is to bring joy and life lessons to the campers through interactive and fun activities, in order to foster their growth of global climate change awareness, so we can continue to combat this problem! Our ecosystem here in San Diego is a beautiful one, so I hope to help preserve it's nature in any way I can!  I also have little siblings and enjoy babysitting, so I will make sure that they are cared for and enjoying learning and getting involved every second of it!

Hello! I'm Collier Lawson, a rising junior at Torrey Pines High School. I love being outdoors, be it going on a hike with my family or running by the beach, and so protecting our beautiful environment is very important to me! As a volunteer at Camp Footprint, it is a goal of mine to help others love the environment just as much, and to teach people ways to care for it  so that we can all work towards protecting this important aspect of our lives and being able to enjoy it for years to come. As an older sister, I have experience with babysitting and am so excited to meet all of the campers this summer!
