Trail mix is a fun and easy snack that can be eaten at camp. There are many different ingredients, but here are a few common ingredients!
Remember to check for allergens in different ingredients. All of these can be made nut free!
Marshmallows
Pretzels
Goldfish
Cheez-its
M&M's
Chocolate chips
Dried fruit (I'd stay away from raisins- they normally get thrown away)
Cheerio's
Fruit Loops
My personal favorite is goldfish, mini marshmallows, the pretzels that look like waffles, cheerio's, and some form of chocolate
If you are planning to stay overnight here are some recipes that are good for camp
Walking Tacos- Bring all of the toppings and make a taco in a bag of chips (mostly Dorito's)
Cheese quesadilla's- Wrap in foil and put on the fire
Picnic- Bring different snack foods like crackers, meat, cheese, and fruit (typically lunch)
Desserts
Pudgy Pies- Put 2 slices of bread in a greased pie iron. Fill with pie filling then sandwich shut and toast over fire. (needs pie iron)
S'mores
Dump cake- you can mix and match flavors, but some include: apple filling, yellow cake mix, and Sprite, or cherry filling, chocolate cake mix and Dr. Pepper (you can still use sprite if you don't want caffeine)
- 2 cans of pie filling
- 1 box cake mix
- 12 once soda
- 1 stick of butter
Banana Boats- Take an unpeeled banana and slice longways. Put different toppings (like marshmallows and chocolate chips) in the banana, then wrap in tinfoil and cook over the fire. Top with ice cream toppings.
