Hi everyone, I am America! I recently graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies and a concentration in Human and Child Development. My interests revolve around education, social justice efforts, and community work. I have helped advocate for ethnic studies, cultural resource centers, and mental health services at CSULB. On my free time I enjoy spending time with friends, dancing, and listening to banda. Being a first-generation college student and daughter of immigrants, my experience in navigating higher education has made me committed to continuing to support students in their academic journey. I enjoyed my time with Caminos and look forward to supporting y'all!
Hey future teachers! I graduated from CSULB in 2020 and I’m currently in the credential program for Social Science. As a historian, I enjoy researching entertainment in American culture such as horror mazes, evolution of film, and theme park attractions. Aside from school, I work as a cast member in Disneyland California Adventure where I use my hospitality and problem solving skills to create fun immersive experiences. I will also begin substitute teaching in the Fall! The Caminos Project shaped me to become a lifelong learner and advocate for all students. As a peer mentor, I made memorable connections with my mentees who needed professional and personal support. I also advocated for a peer mentor social media takeover and a virtual pet show-and-tell for the Caminos Project! Leaving a legacy with this organization means my ideas of student engagement remain for others to further expand on.
Hello. My name is Irving. I majored in History and am currently completing my single subject credential in social science. I am about to begin substitute teaching to gain experience before student teaching. I enjoy hikes, exploring the city, trying new foods, and spending time with family and friends.
Hola Caminantes! Congratulations on choosing to join a united community full of joy, support, and intelligence. I majored in Liberal Studies with a concentration in History/Social Science. I am currently pursuing my masters in Urban Education Policy at Brown University. I'm interested in supporting students from underserved communities and creating inclusive spaces. On my free time I like to cuddle with my dogs and dance.
Hii, holaaaa everyone! I’m Lourdes! I was in Caminos since my freshmen year and then became Caminantes Co-chair for my senior year at CSULB. Love the familia! I graduate this Spring 2023 with a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Education Studies and also with a Public Relations Minor. Sounds like a lot but promise, it was not. I love anything related to wellness, community, storytelling, media, books, and helping one another, among other things! If you have any questions relating to adding a minor, picking a concentration, anything relating to the liberal studies major, or even anything Public Relations like what’s the latest celeb gossip..don’t be shy to reach out, always happy to talk!! Being a first-generation college student who has to navigate higher education opened my perspective and has made me enjoy helping other students. Look forward to helping you all.
