I would consider this an easy/medium match up for Camille. Pretty much a power spike game.
*Patch 8.6 Introduced a new rune for bruisers called "Conqueror" Don't have enough experience with this rune or any data to place it in the guides, you'll have to try it out yourself and see how it works*
- Arcane Comet Arcane Comet can help you matching Vladimir's poke and does a decent job during an all-in. Great for a safe farming playstyle.
- Aftershock Most of Vladimir's damage comes from his burst and he can't wait out your Aftershock or else his Q is going to de-empower. Problem with Aftershock is that you will have a hard time during laning phase because you're gonna get outpoked. This rune helps you only during an all in or longer trades. Good rune for games where you don't have a tank.
- Phase Rush Phase Rush is my personal favorite. It let's you stick to Vladimir ignoring his slow from E (or later from Rylai's) and helps you matching his movement speed after he uses W. Great rune that allows you to all-in often with great success. Good choice for more aggressive players. note it doesn't give you any resists unlike Aftershock and doesn't help you survive Vladimir's poke so if you're not planning on playing aggressively then avoid picking this rune
- Electrocute Helps with short trades giving you more burst potential to shut down Vladimir before he heals up during the fight. I wouldn't pick this rune because of it's long cooldown giving Vladimir a lot of time to heal up after the trade.
ALSO IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER RUNES ARE OFTEN A PREFERENCE CHOICE BECAUSE ALL OF THEM OFFER DIFFERENT PLAYSTYLES SO DIFFERENT RUNES MAY SUIT DIFFERENT PLAYERS BETTER
Some things to look out for:
- Vladimir is pretty weak levels 1-3 and hits a strong power spike at level 6.
- There are clear windows of opportunities to jump on him thanks to his long W cooldown and visible Q cooldown.
- Vladimir hits two power spikes faster than you (level 6 and hextech protobelt) try to watch out for this 2 things.
- Keep the lane dynamic so you either fight a lot or not at all, he has great sustain and will be able to stay on lane longer.
What you need to look out for the most is Vladimir's Q. This will be your trade timing. You wait until his bar fully loads and jump in RIGHT when he uses it on minions. This way you're fighting him while his Q is down and by the time he has his Q back it's not empowered so it won't hurt a lot. In that short amount of time you need to dish out as much damage as possible, that's why we're playing Phase Rush. After you do your initial E->aa->Q Vladimir is going to use his W. You already have Phase Rush activated so you just follow him while your passive absorbs all damage from his W. Then, after his pool runs out, you hit him with aa->Q2 and finish the trade with W while walking backwards.
Later on in the game you want to avoid 1v1ing Vladimir unless you are ahead enough to out damage his healing. I would focus more on shutting down other carries of enemy team.
First you need to look at your options: note I'm not telling you to buy this items yet!
- Executioners Calling
- Tiamat
- Phage
- Sheen
So about Executioners Calling, I think it may be a great option BUT I never buy it simply because I don't like how it delays my Trinity Force. I'm not sure about this item so you would have to test it yourself. Definitely as a 2nd tier 2 item.
Tiamat is used to push so you can roam to mid/jg. I wouldn't recommend it in this match up because you can get heavily punished for pushing the lane and accidentally setting up a freeze for enemy toplaner.
Sheen is great for short trades so if you can't afford Phage on your first back this is a good option and gives you enough damage for kill pressure.
Phage is my favorite first buy when facing Vladimir because it matches well with Phase Rush helping you stick close to him and gives you a bit health and AD helping you in raw fights.
